    infants and children swim lessons

Has anyone ever had any experience with this? Infant Swimming Resources (I hope it's okay I put this link in here....) I have two young children (older than a year, but still young enough to learn, I think) and was thinking about putting them through this course. Watch the video...it's really...

Ktdave's finally showing off the petite oasis.

Looks great! Those easements can be a pain...my in-laws just had to cut down about 100 cedar trees they had planted because they were within 15' of a 1" water line. What a crock! Hopefully your easement is for something a little more bearable...

Need a new pool - what brand to look at???

My husband and I, too, have been looking at above ground pools. We have found the sharkline are a little better quality than the others you mentioned, but it really depends on what you want (steel, aluminum, resin, etc...) We have found that we like the Artesian, Jerry Weismuller, and Vogue...

    More rain! Is this possible?

Blow some this way! We are about 6" low for the month and are going through a major drought. My father-in-law has a Christmas tree farm and is losing most of his trees and paying crazy prices to water them. Farmers are losing crops and some counties are even shutting people's water off if they...

Plants for landscaping around the pool

Does anyone use mosquito shoo geranium plants? I wonder how well they actually deter the mosquitos. Also, any flowering plants....are there many problems with bees and such? Thanks! What a great idea for a thread JohnT!

    Adsense - ads by Google

I, too, was attracted to this site because it was free (and let me register to ask annoying questions). I can deal with the ads if they keep more people coming. I like the idea of putting up ads from reputable companies and not just Google search ads (it seems). I think we will get more good...

Which "chlorine system" do you use?

I do realize the BBB method is still used in other sources, but am just curious as to the "main" source. Does that make sense? Sorry if I seem ignorant, I am. I am trying to learn still and am curious about what others are doing for the main source of chlorine.

Which "chlorine system" do you use?

I, like others I'm sure, am curious as to which "system" of chlorine you all use. (Sorry if this is not the proper way to state it!)

how to choose AGP?? (split from 'Hello in TN')

Hey Scott, thanks for your input! We, too, have a septic field issue, so that's why we are getting such a large deck. We would like to connect the deck to the house, and we are on a slight slope, so where we have to put the pool (b/c of the septic), we are far away from the back door. I think an...

    Hello from TN!

Thanks guys! We are still in the planning stages and hope for our pool early season next year. :-D I hope Pool and Spa Depot in cookeville can give me some references for their installation. Their rep (4 complaints) is about the same as the Watson's rep (6 complaints) on the BBB site (Better...

    Hello from TN!

Thanks JD! Yes, Watson's is near the top of the list. We actually looked at the pool and spa depot in cookeville...they are MUCH better than the one in Nashville, and their BBB (better business bureau, not the other BBB!) record was a LOT better! They have a few pools we liked too. I will...

how to choose AGP?? (split from 'Hello in TN')

Thanks again all! Waterbug, that is a good looking pool! I would like to build ours ourselves, but we are out of level quite a bit. You sure make it look easy in those pics! :-D I found the Vogue site in English, so I feel better about it. Thanks ssabin for your input too. We too have a...

how to choose AGP?? (split from 'Hello in TN')

Thank you all for your input! We really like the round pools, so will probably stick to those. NWMNMom, I'm 5'1" so the 33' will probably be plenty for me too! :-D We were looking at the 36' Artesian (they are the only brand I've found with a 36' round), but found a 33' pool today we really...

    SWG: anything else?

I am still a newbie here, so please excuse my insanely ignorant question! We are doing research on pools and equipment before we take the plunge (no pun intended!) into building our AGP early spring of next year. My question is about salt water generators: I know they turn the salt...

how to choose AGP?? (split from 'Hello in TN')

How about brands? We really like the Artesian brand, and I know many consider it the best. Are there any others I may have overlooked? (We saw Jerry Weismuller, Doughboy, Mighty Sun) Is Artesian the only company making a 36'? Thanks again everyone for your help!

how to choose AGP?? (split from 'Hello in TN')

Thanks for the welcomes! We went out today on our first "official" local search. The kids were ready to buy the first one they touched, but thankfully, we didn't (although some of the prices had us thinking otherwise! 36' Artesian w/pump, filter, etc. package for $5300 installed! I was shocked...

    Hello from TN!

I found this site from the PF site and nearly jumped up and down with joy when it actually let me register!
