    Compupool Wiring

Those of you with the compupool SWG, what did you end up doing with the wiring that is already attached? There is no where to attach any electrical conduit or flex pipe, etc? When you connected it to your subpanel, did you just use a knockout and run it through that? Kinda confused on what to...

    Need assistance with new pump

Right now, I have a DP 30 Amp breaker in my main panel, running back to my pool subpanel. In my subpanel, I have 2 20Amp SP GFCI breakers. One supplies the Pool light, the other the pool pump, which is a single speed Hayward 1HP pump. The pump is on a mechanical t103 intermatic timer. I...

How much salt is too much

I just purchased a compupool SWG and put in my bags of salt. However according to my test strip I have 4400ppm, and the SWG calls for 3500? Do I need to remove water, or will it still work, and I just let splashing/backwash clear it out over time? ~Nod

From Dark Green to Swimming Blue in Just 3 Days

So this year, I have just been lazy. A lot of work with a little time to play hasn't helped in the situation. Anyhow, we went on vacation for a week. My DW suggested we throw a couple pucks in the pool, but upon my laziness, I just dumped a couple jugs of bleach in, thinking I could make it a...

Helping out some folks with their pool

So my wife's friends inherited an above ground pool with the purchase of their house. It is 24' round and 13,500 gallons. They have been going to the pool store for over a month trying to get it straight. Pool store just keeps giving them bags of "shock". Well finally my wife told them we...

Pool almost ready despite algae bloom

We went on vacation last week and when we came back, noticed algae forming on the bottom of the pool - there were patches of green film all over the bottom of the liner. I waited a couple of days when I had off and began the clean-up. My wife had been put a couple 182oz containers of bleach in...

    Algae in the winter?

So I decided to go cover free this winter and some stuff has gotten in the pool, but I have fished most of it out. Well this past couple of weeks, it looks like alge took over. It is a nice shade of green. The temp has been in the 50's. I didn't think algae could grow in this climate...

    Should I close?

I am in the eastern part of NC, and have a new IG vinyl pool. The water temp is around 60-65 degrees. I am down to running my pump about 2 hours a day and don't even run the polaris cleaner. I have no leaves or debris I need to worry about. There are a couple of worms on the bottom and some...

    Polaris 280 - Only 24 RPM's

If you have followed my other thread, I was installing a Polaris 280 cleaner. Well its roaming around the pool, but the fastest I can get it going is 24 RPM's. The book says 28-32 is optimal. I have removed the restrictor plate and the pressure relief valve is closed. The max I can get is 24...

Just Received My TF testkit and TA is high

Just did the test and here are my numbers: FC 6 CC .5 TC 6.5 pH 7.35 TA 200 CYA <20 My chlorine burns off quickly. I assume this is due to the low level of CYA. I am going to purchase some more today as I only purchased 3lbs of it for a 22000 gallon pool. I was battling algae, but with a CC...

    Poolmandan.com for poolkits

I highly recommend calling Dan if you are looking for an inground pool kit. I researched several weeks before pulling the trigger and Dan had the best price. I went for a polymer pool and no one could touch his price with his reduced priced liner specials. Once the kit arrived, 3 of the...

    Think I beat the Algae!

The pool was filled last week with water from the fire hydrant. The water was horrible looking (see pics). Looking back, I would have preferred the garden hose and waited the couple of nights, over the headache this has caused. Anyhow, I am waiting on my test kit, but have been putting A LOT...

Need advice on Vermiculite Bottom (Pictures)

My PB was out today putting in the vermiculite bottom to my pool. They were very quick and took approx. 3 hours to complete a 16x32 8' deep pool. Anyhow, after looking at it, I see alot of trowel marks and it doesn't look that smooth. I am incorrect in thinking that the bottom should be...
