    Tabs ok in this situation

Thinking of using tabs to increase my cya. Every year going into summer my cya is really low. Due mostly to evaporation and back washing. Question is, besides increase in cya from using tabs what else would be added to the water from the tabs? Once my cya is around 50-60 I would use liquid...

CYA dropped, liquid stabilizer, chlorine last longer

For anyone referencing: I use quite a bit of LC as it is since switching beginning summer 2022 with TFP (pool has been BEAUTIFUL). About 5-6 gallons a week(winter a lot less). CYA always in the 40ish range (didn’t test often cause of this), no issues till about 2 months ago when the chlorine...

Talking with a buddy. Does this sound right?

7cups of 12.5%= 1 tab (Best comparison I could find) 1 gallon of 12.5%= 2.28 tabs Usage would be 5 gallons a week Or 11.4 tabs per week In 6 weeks I’d use 70 in a 35lbs bucket ($210)8oz tabs Or 30 gallons ($210) So it’s a Wash short term I think I save the tabs for extended...

    Float valve and vac mate

Has anyone ever used a float plate underneath the vac mate skimmer basket in order to suck water from the main drain, vacuum and skimmer simultaneously…? Or is there usually not enough suction to do that and make everything effective? Thanks

    Suction and return lines

So I have my vacuum hooked up to my only skimmer directly into the suction line. I think I should get a skimmer/vacuum basket combo so my skimmer catches debris floating…? When my pump is running I have my valve from the pool sucking as much as it can before the psi. Drops on the filter and the...

Pump filter “filter bags” good idea?

When is it good to use a filter bag? -Only when troubleshooting -always -never -randomly -when storms are on the way Thoughts? Way back in the day when I went to the pool store (are those still around?), the clerk said don’t use it in your filter basket as it could get sucked into the impeller…

Best time to run pool pump?

I’ve heard to run it through the hottest part of the day as the action of the water makes the chlorine last longer? On average how many hours per day? Thanks

I’m here-got my test kit and everything

New to tfp. First off I’ve had many pools living in Az and every one acted different. I never really got as involved as you all have made me(thank you). Heck I even had a job doing pool service when I was 19 and that’s exactly why I don’t want someone coming to take care of MY pool! Fast forward...
