Have to leave newly filled pool for 6 days ...

Unfortunately my replacement pool ended up being installed just prior to leaving for a 6 day vacation. It's a little over half full. I have an SWG but no salt is in yet. I'm concerned about getting an algae bloom while I am gone. I will have the chlorine at shock level. 1)Do I need to fill...

Silver dollar size rust hole with liner showing through but not protruding

Directly under my return line, down at ground level, I have a silver dollar size rust hole that I thought was surface rust but today I touched it from inside the pool and realized it is clear through. You can see the liner from the outside but it is not protruding. This is an older pool going...

Is your R-0870 powder turning purple?

I opened my pool this year and replaced my Aquatrol cell since it had been three seasons and I didn't want to have any troubles mid season. I got things up and running and as I was getting my chemicals up to snuff I ran out of R-0870 and shifted to a new bottle that had been laying around for a...

Had a present when I got back from 1 week vacation

High water level over top of the skimmer. Green algae mucky enough I can't see bottom. I expected that my chemicals were off a bit due to the rain, but they are pretty close: FC 5 ( a bit higher than norm, but I turned up my SWG a bit to be safe while I was gone) CC 0 TC 5 pH 7.8 (up...

Should "generating" light be on all the time?

HAYWARD AQUATROL AQ-TROL-RJ I expected the "generating" light only to come a percentage of the time based on the control. It seems to be on any time the filter is on and I have the percentage control set to 1%. My FC level is up around 5 and the filter runs 12 hours a day. Is this normal? Rick

FC between 1 and 3 ppm seems to be the norm

FC between 1 and 3 ppm seems to be the norm outside this forum. I'm just wondering why we recommend higher levels. Rick

    HAYWARD AQUATROL AQ-TROL-RJ (with Photos)

How is this system? I have a 13500 gal pool and this looks like a breeze to install. You hang the business end on the return line on the edge of the pool. You plug the control unit into the 120 power, then plug your pump into it. It then acts as your timer. At $423 it looks good to me...

Just started conversion last night (complete 2011, so happy)

Day 1: First post. Looks like a great forum. My friend referred me. I have a 24' round above ground pool with a sand filter that I have been using Baquacil in for the last 10 years. I have been progressively having a harder time keeping it clear and free of green algae. I started the...
