    Problem with robot

Or more accurately a problem with the drain cover installed when we put in a new liner last year. The Dolphin Premier cleaner I bought a year and a half ago gets stuck when trying to traverse the drain. Solution anyone?

Can’t seem to get PH lowered

Testing pool water that was just put in a month or so ago when new liner done. Multiple tests have shown PH at 8.2 (maybe higher in that the Taylor safety test only goes to 8.2?) and total alkalinity at 130. Added a gallon of muratic 31.45 -20 Baumé and still the PH remains consistently too...

    A little over/under

As you can see from my latest figures, my salt is a little on the high side, and my CYA (60) is a little under according to the ideal measurements for a salt pool with a SWG. I have my RJ60 down to 20% - and just moved it down another step as my last chlorine test moved up a notch. Running the...

    SLAM started!!

Just started a SLAM with my pool open for just over two days. Water looks cloudy but most of the organically are gone from the bottom/walls. Just got the chemistry within tolerance using the TL100 and it shows: FC 12 I PH 7.2 TA 70 CYA 30 Salt 4600 Just added 3 gal to get the fc at 12 Will...

    New to self testing

Ok guys. Gonna crack the cover on the pool tomorrow afternoon. Took some tests today to figure out a baseline. Results: Fc 0 PH. 8.2 TA 90 CYA. 20 Salt. 600 The pool is not yet open but I am actively going to start that process tomorrow. I’ll remove the cover and vacuum to waste to get the...

    Vertical or horizontal?

No No, the SWCG! I am going to soon be finishing up on the plumbing changes for my new Circupool 2hp VS pump and RJ60 SWCG. It looks like I’ll have enough room to go either horizontal or vertical with the salt cell, and the instructions indicate either way is ok. Question is, is there a...

To open or not to open

The pool is currently in hibernation given the relatively cold temps of South Central PA (snowed a bit yesterday). I am in the process of obtaining and will be installing a new VS pump and SWCG, but need to do some re-plumbing/electrical/construction (for someplace to hand the SWCG controller)...

    Connection from pump to filter

Hi guys! Got the new Circupool VS pump and am looking into fitting it into the equipment setup. The current system includes a Hayward EC 65 DE filter and a Hayward Superpump. The picture attached shows the 1 1/2 inch plumbing between the pump and filter. It is a union I’ve not seen before. It...

Replacement pump and adding a SWG

New Circupool VS pump and RJ45 SWG coming tomorrow. The pic shows the current plumbing (minus the obvious filter which is a Hayward EC65 DE. The inline chlorinator will obviously go. The pipe along the back is a drain from the filter to waste. Just trying to figure out the best arrangement. The...

    Biting the bullet

Folks- Am going to remove my inline chlorinator and replace with the Circupool RJ-45. I’m also going to replace my noisy as heck 1hp Superpump and replace it with a VS pump.... but which one?? Circupool has a package that looks attractive but I don’t know anything about their pumps.? I think...

    Questions on SWG and pump

OK. I believe I'm ready, after many years, to upgrade to a SWG. I'm looking at the Circupool RJ45 ($1 upgrade from RJ30). My current pump is a 1HP Hayward that I run about 10 hours per day off a timer in the basement on a 230 circuit. My pump and filter are located away from the house some...

    Old newbie here.

Hey all. Just joined this site, although I’ve had my pool for almost 30 years. Better late than never! Have a vinyl lined 18x36 with a 8’ “deep” end with a board and molded stairs at the opposite end. Two skimmers, two returns. Pretty plain as far as the design goes. Hayward EC65 and Superpump...
