Does the Jandy RS Serial Adaptor broadcast status updates (ie if the pump is turned on) or does it only reports the status when specifically prompted? In other words, can I have a listener waiting for status updates or do I have to periodically query the adaptor?

Is there any way to connect a Water (leak) Sensor to the AquaLink to stop the pump if a water leak is detected? I imagine I can connect the sensor to a relay to stop the pump, but I wonder if the AquaLink has this functionality already built in.
