    Jandy gas valve on off switch

    The on/off switch on my Jandy 400n heater seems to have failed. If I bypass the on/off switch, my heater works fine. What is the purpose of that switch, can you buy that separately from the gas valve? And is there any harm in leaving that switch bypassed?
