    CYA down over winter????

I used tablets all summer last year and I swear I tested cya pretty high at the end of the season and I was planning on partially draining. Upon opening today, I'm measuring <30ppm. How?? Am I measuring wrong?

CYA dropped from 70 to 30 since Memorial Day

I'm not sure how though... My vacuum robot throws a fair bit of water out when its tail breaks the surface and I have to fill quite a bit of water weekly but have I really lost THAT much CYA? All other measurements well within spec that whole time. FC 6.5 CC 0 pH 7.6 TA 80 CH 330 CYA 30 CSI 0.03

Had family watch after the pool - it didn't die!

Had some family watch the house while I was out for a few days over the weekend and came back to a crystal clear pool (albeit with 0 chlorine and pH above 8.0, and very, very low on water) Dumped in 2.5 gal of 10% last night and ran the filter (after filling for 3 hours) and woke up to 13 ppm...

CSI about perfect at pH 7.8... risks?

I've noticed my CSI is almost exactly zero right now with the pH at 7.8. If I drop it to 7.4, the CSI goes below -0.3 without changing anything else. What is the best way to manage the pH with it "best" at the high limit? Should I adjust something else? FC 8.5 pH 7.8 TA 70 CH 250 CYA 60 CSI...

ph way up after rain - more forecast. dose now or later?

First heavy rain with my new pool - PH at about 8 (acid demand of 9 drops to get to 7.4) and FC of 5, so I'm a bit low on chlorine too. There's more rain in the forecast for tonight and tomorrow. Should I add chemicals now or wait until it looks like its clearing up?

I'm new pool owner, told 15 yr pool owner about TFP and he said...

"i had one of those put drops in the thing testing kits and then I took my water to the pool store and they had completely different results...they tell me how much to put in and when and just like that, the water is clear again" I said "and you trust them more than you trust yourself???"...
