Being slowly broken down over buying a heater...

My sub panel is rated for 100 amps. I can replace the breaker feeding it with a 60 or 70. The wire was sized for 100amp.

Being slowly broken down over buying a heater...

I guess I could gain some back by replacing the pump with a 2 speed which I would likely want to do anyway so the heater can run longer per day. That would gain another 7 back.

Being slowly broken down over buying a heater...

I have a 50 amp feeding the pool panel. The pump uses 12 and the chlorinator uses a couple. There is also a dehumidifier in my barn running on it. For the rest of the service there is an old air source heat pump cooling the house, 2 fridges, and 1 freezer. There is usually 3-4 laptops running...

You need almost 50 amps available for that 140k. That would be great but would definitely require a service upgrade.

Interesting, that certainly isn't what their marketing material says. Big surprise lol

Being slowly broken down over buying a heater...

I can service it provided I can get parts. Not much to them. The compressor is a sealed unit. The motherboard is easy to replace. Then it's just plumbing. Propane is $2.60 a gallon right now so basically $25/day to run it 8 hours a day. Electric is $0.14/kw so much much cheaper. At 30 amps I...

Being slowly broken down over buying a heater...

Natural gas is definitely not an option and propane is far too expensive to use. I've got 30-35 amps available without doing any upgrades. Looks like most of the 70-80k heat pumps are in the 20amp area.

Being slowly broken down over buying a heater...

The wife is whining daily now lol... 15x30 12k above ground pool. Any recommendations for an efficient heat pump to look at? Located in WI. Looking to get at least may/sept onto the season when temps are average. Figure I need 70-90k btu depending on how conservative/aggressive I want to be...

Salt in our not supposed to be salt pool

You got a free salt system and don't want it? You scored big there and your life will be much easier. I would definitely go with it

    Limestone dust? under whole pool?

Oh it gets crazy hard. Under pressure it will feel like concrete. You can still dig through it though while setting up and such. It is put over top of the soil to reduce moisture in the ground and it is fantastic for that. It will also stabilize the ground. You will want to put it down and...

    First timer advice/thoughts for AGP

For your test kit, get a 2 ounce bottle of Taylor Cyanuric Acid R-0013-C. The one that comes in the 2006 is way too small

They also serve as a water bond. I used one instead of the brass one for that reason.

    Pump wiring issue?

They are gonna get you on the "requires professional installation", its a dirty trick companies pull to pad their dealer's pockets. Sounds like your dealer is going to use it to get out of doing any sort of unpaid work.

New AGP - looking for recommendations on equipment

I second the variable speed pump. I bought a single speed and that is my one area of regret.

    Agp with tracked robot

I'm using one in mine and no issues. It climbs the walls, works on the water line. They are a lot more gentle than you would think.

    Pump wiring issue?

Yup, you're right. I am following it now. Most of those timers don't actually work on 240, they are 120 to the wifi functionality and need a neutral wire.
  21. N

    Pump wiring issue?

That wiring is not correct! If you are wiring for 240 then com2 should be hot. You have the neutral for the timer connected to com2. It doesn't look like you have a neutral coming into the timer at all. I only see that black, red, and ground coming in.

    First timer advice/thoughts for AGP

You will need many jugs of liquid chlorine. You probably won't need baking soda unless you screw up with the acid. Baking soda also raises total alkalinity. If you want to raise your PH without raising total alkalinity you want to aerate. Do you know what the total alkalinity of your fill water...

    First timer advice/thoughts for AGP

Having just put up a 15x30 I will say this. If you have room for a 24' round, or larger, you will get a bigger pool for less money and infinitely easier to install. Oval pools are a serious PITA to install and I would guess install would be much less with a round pool. -didn't realize this was...

    Pool Stair Comparison

I think either one will be fine. The one that uses sand is the older style I think but not sure. I like ours just fine. Sturdy, stable, and easy to put together.

I bought a cheap ladder off amazon to use as a "maintenance ladder" so you can get in and out without relying on the stairs.

    Pool Stair Comparison

If you get the version that uses two of the 1x stairs you can't use water, they will still float. If you get the pes-dbl-x setup then you use water. You can put some bleach in the water when you fill them to help with the green water. There is enough room to brush behind the stairs when they are...

    Pool Stair Comparison

We have the confer double entry setup using two of the 1x stairs and the enclosure/gate kit. It is also going to be painful to remove at closing but that thing is solid as a rock. Getting the required sand in it was a challenge but after that was done it was no issue. Super easy to put together too.

Our local ordinances clearly state that pools "for hire" are not allowed. The city doesn't want the competitition.
