Grouting tile on steps, ledges etc

I think it will look great with the plaster! The accent tiles will all be under water and surrounded by the plaster. I'm sure any way you choose will look great, but I vote plaster 😁 And the pool is look great!

Grouting tile on steps, ledges etc

They actually started grouting without asking me. I have a black waterline tile that I used black grout and they started using that black grout for the accent tiles. I called my PB immediately. super quick after that call the tile subs were scraping the black grout out from the tiles! I KNOW I...

Grouting tile on steps, ledges etc

Well..... just so happens that I have that SAME accent tile! I did not use it as waterline, but it is on my steps/shelf/bench. You can also go with a 2 strip band of accent tiles too. I have blue surf pebble. It really depends on the sun angle how the tiles look. They either are super "blingy"...

O/B in Gilbert, AZ for 2nd time

I think one reason is that "the majority/nobody on TFP" just want it finished and don't really care about the details, so they don't think to involve you. Both my designer and builder said that I was the most involved owner they have ever had. LOL! and I was over here thinking I was holding...

Grouting tile on steps, ledges etc

If you are worried about the tile popping out too much with the light plaster you could always go with a lighter version of the same tile for the accent tiles. What tile do you plan on?

Grouting tile on steps, ledges etc

Hi, I agree with Kim! Especially with the lighter plaster! If you put a charcoal grout between the tiles next to a light plaster it could end up looking like there is mold. My pool builder was hesitant about putting the plaster between the tiles, but I had him talk to the plaster guys and they...

Jets, pumps, rebar, oh my! New build in Southwest FL! 🤗 Any advice before we sign?

Hi! another thing, it says your shelf water depth is 6.5" That is very shallow (some do prefer this). There have been a LOT of discussion on here about depth of the shelf. Mine is 14", it was just finished, so haven't been in there very much at all, way too cold 🥶, but i am glad I got a deeper...

Jets, pumps, rebar, oh my! New build in Southwest FL! 🤗 Any advice before we sign?

Hi! have you thought about flipping the spa and shelf? that would put the spa off to the side and not block much of the view to see into the pool. And put the shelf so after sunning on the shelf you can just walk over to the stairs and get in (that is if you are not just gonna jump in from the...

    Tile choice for pool remodel

I like the gemstone silver 1st and 2nd pick is sierra blue slate! I feel the ones with blue tones might try to be too matchy with the water but not matchy enough...if that even makes ANY sense LOL

Austin building code requirements of fence with: closely spaced horizontal members

The "rule" sounds like it refers to regular old vertical fences. I wonder if there is some kind of exception you could get because there ain't no way somebody climbing that fence easily!

Quarantine Christmas Pool Build - ATX - Intellicenter - System Reset?

Also you could turn the tiles 45 degrees so they mimic the diamond shapes of the sconces. (maybe y'all were already thinking this?) ;) 🤩

    Tile for Flagstone Coping?

I picked a darker, but similar waterline tile and accent glass tiles for my pool. We have blue surf pebblesheen which is similar (a bit more blue) to blue granite. Our coping is lighter (ivory travertine) but you can see how the tiles look black at some angles and sometime show off really...

New Build in Gilbert, AZ - Would love your expertise!

I suggest going 3' 6" or 4' water depth for the shallow ends. 3'-6' will be a large slope in a sport pool with the deep in the middle.

Any picture of Microbrites in action?

I think they are 10' apart. I will take more pictures once it warms up. This is the first time I have turned them on, I don't have the ET set up yet to control, should get that all working and figured out next week! It was cold so I turned them on, took the pic then turned them off and went back...
