Ok, I'm having an algae issue. It's my fault. I let things go too long and didn't stay on top of it. So, i'm trying to attack it today. I put 2 96oz jugs of bleach in today at 11:30. I just tested again (3 hours later) and it says my FC is 1! How can that be? I'm using a Taylor 2006 kit...

I'm trying to figure out a more efficient way to do a partial drain/refill. It's going to take forever to just lower it a few inches, refill, recirc. retest etc. Should I rent a submersable (sp?) pump? Does Lowe's rent those? How much are they?

I need to do this to lower my CYA. But I'm not sure exactly HOW to do it. Do I set my filter to waste? Will the pump turn off then the water level gets too low? Then I need to refill, recirculate, and then drain again?

If you mixed the solution and pool water for at least 30 seconds, and it never got cloudy, I'd say too that you have no CYA.

Ok, so I tested our fill water for TA and it was high, like 240! Does that make sense? Would well water have the high of TA? If that's accurate, then I probably shouldn't do the partial refill for TA and CYA right? If I need to take care of CYA and TA, which one would be more important...
