    Let the pool games begin!

Yes and to your point we were asked to provide a survey of the property I assume to prove boundary lines, but the easement wasn't noted on their however the septic easement was.

    Let the pool games begin!

As for the easement, I wasn't aware....if it was made aware during closing I certainly don't recall it. I do recall a septic easement but that was nowhere near the pool. If the contract says something of relocate that could be an issue, however I have a gigantic yard, if we were told that...

    Let the pool games begin!

As for the easement, it was granted prior to me moving in (3rd owner), but the fact that it is a documented easement makes more of an issue with with the sub contractor not marking the lines for Miss Utility. As for PB, I'm using Anthony Sylvan.

    Let the pool games begin!

So, after lots of questions and hanging out here...throw in the obligatory delays and today was day 1 of our build....and boy was it an eventful day. Shot of the backyard prior to the dig.....you can see the flags marking the outline of the pool. Well, about 90 minutes into the dig and...

    Brand new test kit arrived

OK, I'm back after a few days of draining, filling and adding in increments....new tests as of today: FC - 7 CC - 0, tested twice and still never turned red TA - 170 PH - 8.2 CYA - 60 No more pucks, only using BBB......I know I need to get PH down using Muriatic Acid, but that is something I...

    Brand new test kit arrived

Water source, well water. PH ~7.0 darker than 6.8' not quite 7.2 TA - 80 Think I might go the drain and refill route and see where we go from there. Again this is all a learning curve "playing" with the small pool so when the big pool is in I'm familiar with the test kit and the BBB method...

    Brand new test kit arrived

I will test my water, it's well water so I'm interested as well. And yes no longer using pucks as it was a temp solution when wife brought the little pool home this year.

    Brand new test kit arrived

Yes it is (was) a floater with 3in pucks (1).

    Brand new test kit arrived

Yes it was lighter than 6.8 but as you mentioned it didn't go any lower. So new question? What do I tackle first? PH, TA or CL, or adjust all at once since they are all low and then retest and and see where we go from there?

    Pool equipment

Yeah, the heat loss was one concern, the 2nd was having to oversize the pump to run the water features.....guess I will go with the PB suggestion...that's why we interview and hire a PB who makes us comfortable, right? He's the "supposed" expert, so I guess in this case I should listen to what...

    Brand new test kit arrived

So my pool is still in building stages, heck I don't even have the permit yet....but in the meantime I got the kit and decided to practice and get familiar with it on our Intex "kiddie" pool which is 1000 gallons...you know the blue inflatable ring type. FC - .5 CC - .5 CYA - 55 PH - 6.8 TA - 0...

    Pool equipment

So we are under contract for pool and we are going over final layouts and such and equipment location has come up. I want it on side of house, however pool will be ~100 linear feet away.....would this be too far for pump and heater? PB wants the equipment near pool, and I could landscape around...

Sport type Pool or Traditional Deep End?????

Just went through the same thought process. Ended up going with a 6.5 deep end. Pool is 20x40 so the slope from 3.5 is not too much and it will give us quite a bit of "shallow" end while still allowing most to jump/cannonball into the "deep end". I grew up with diving pools, bit really how...

    New pool, just signed contract

BTW, pool turnover will have something to do with this, correct? My pool will be in direct sunlight ALL DAY...sun up to sun down, so I have to figure 12 hours plus. In using a SWG, and with the sun trying to eat away all the chlorine, would I have to turn the pool over more than once a day...

    New pool, just signed contract

No natural gas and I already have a buried 150 gallon propane tank for my stove/oven/grill so tapping into that made the most sense.

    New pool, just signed contract

I don't think it was about the money, I think his point was if you are going to upgrade from a single speed you might as well go VS instead of 2 speed. He's pushing the single speed and stating I don't need the hype of VS since nothing in my pool warrants it.

    New pool, just signed contract

OK folks.....I've been here reading like a mad man for several weeks.....and we've just (like 2 hours ago) signed our contract for a 650sqft, 21k gallon, gunite pool. Questions are already mounting as I now want to bounce some info off of you good folks and get your thoughts. Everything at the...
