    Electric Service Underground

As someone whose PB cut through the electric line, the electric company and and will splice around instead of run new. Also, I doubt very highly the electric company will let anyone other than themselves reroute the line (make the physical splice and pull), although you will probably have to...

    New pool build!

As you know I have the same PB...and they are WAAYYYY behind and really don't care. We call and scream everyday at them....we've been passed around to several project managers (which in their case is a joke since they never even show up) and nothing seems to change...when they get to it they...

Wait 30 days before turning on SWG

Tried searching but too many posts returned with salt in topic. PB is getting ready to plaster (CLI Industries Black Pearl) and they told me we have to wait 30 days before turning SWG on, is this right/normal? What's the purpose for waiting? I wasn't at home when PB discussed with my wife so...

    Let the pool games begin!

No worries on the deer.....I've shot him about a 1000 times and he refuses to move.......although the wife might throw him for a dip just to drown him and get him out of the yard :D

Neat new product I found at the pool store

Any pics? Also kicking myself for not going with LED bubblers but for the price they wanted I just couldn't justify it, this may solve the issue.

    Let the pool games begin!

Well, 2 weeks of screaming at PB to give us a date for decking, we finally had the deck crew show up....down side, all they did was grade and lay the forms. I'm told we now wait for an inspection, then pouring can start...but as usual nobody can give a date as to when that will start...probably...

New IG pool Long Island NY..updated with more pics

Re: New IG pool Long Island NY Not to put aside your frustrations but by my count you are ~5 weeks in? Try being 7 months in and still screaming at builder when he can't give a date when folks will even show up.....that is when you wish you would have gone with a different builder.

    Let the pool games begin!

Sheesh...Another week of great weather and zero pool contractors on site....it's this kind of **** that drives everyone batty. I have to say this PB is really testing my nerves...we went with the, because they were the biggest and claimed they don't have the resource issues that small builders...

Backfilling the trenches and around the Pool

Since you are using AS I will chime in.....AS told me that the pool quote included backfill and rough grade, however the person doing this is the pool deck crew, so in essence it is the responsibility of the decking folks to back fill and grade....just so happens I put the decking under contract...

    Mud in pool

So, we've had quite a bit of rain recently and I noticed a good amount of water/mud leaking in around the pool light housing on the deep end...mind you the finish has not been installed, nor has the backfilling around the trench of the pool plumbing. Guess my question is "Is this leaking around...

CrystalStone Smooth, Sunstone Pearl or Sunstone Pearl Ice interior Finishes

We also used CLI although it isn't done yet.....oddly enough going through Pinterest and searching on the color brought back the most image results....that's how we ended up deciding on Black Pearl finish.

    Let the pool games begin!

Yes backfilling of trenches and rough grade....I would think they have to do it in order to pass final inspection. They did make it very clear that final grade is on me, but they are responsible for rough grading and backfilling of trenches......not sure how they could get passed an inspection...

    Let the pool games begin!

All trenches and digging is being backfilled and rough graded. As for the Gas line that is on the other side away from the pool so they didn't trench there and that would be on me to get dug for the line. Nope, nothing like a 4x4x4 pit at all.

    New pool build!

We went with Black Pearl and we wanted it dark...Pacific Ocean dark....almost went with a black bottom pool but thought this was dark enough. As for photos, your right we ended up just searching the net for black pearl photos and decided it was what we liked...that's the best advice I have for...

    New pool build!

Hey both..two more A&S folks...we also switched out for the Salt Generator....$1,200 in the long term isn't too much...I know we always have to balance these little 1K items or before you know it you've spent an additional 20K, but in this case I think the 1,200 is well worth it...just my 2...

    Let the pool games begin!

I haven't priced out the run yet, but yes I was told about the same which is why I placed the equipment pad right next to my propane tank (buried). Because I'm on propane and not city gas, I don't have to worry about the meter and such, just the running of the line, which will be about 20 feet...

    Let the pool games begin!

Hwy guys, I'm back. After watering the pool for 10 days (the longest 10 days ever BTW) I ended up going out of town for work...but I cam back to some welcome progress on the pool and elevated deck (not being built by PB). Below find the photos of where we are at so far..... Raised bond beam...

Pool size - what is considered "a large pool"?

I would say if in doubt go bigger.....I know I wish I had. Ours is 20x40 and is being built. When it was painted I said it needed to be bigger and PB assured me when depth was added it would be plenty big. Now that it's dug and gunite poured its a nice size, but not as big as I'd hoped for. We...

    Let the pool games begin!

Ours was more of a right of way vs easement. It was documented and on file with the surveyor but miss utility missed it. Now had we dug during the 12 day valid ticket electric company or there sub would have been responsible but since we dug after the 12 day it was on us (PB really). In the end...

    Let the pool games begin!

Electircal done! We are moving right along nowadays...we had a slow start but maybe, just maybe we will have a pool by Memorial Day. Obligatory pics below: All new trenches dug....I find it odd how some pool builders schedule different things at different times. Seems we could have saved...

    Let the pool games begin!

Well Holy Guacamole! I'm back...... Too catch everyone up...when I left off the misses had gotten the pool company to agree to pay for the relocation of the power line. Well, then the power company took several months to get out and relocate the line, followed by delays in inspection and then...

    Let the pool games begin!

Alrighty.....I'm back. After a bit of back and forth, to be honest it felt like was in Texas 2-step.....i finally suck the bulldog on the PB. The misses doesn't mess around and let them have it. To back up a bit, the bill for the reroute came in @$3200. I tell PB price and that this doesn't...
