    Sun dome

I bought a vinyl sun dome. I tossed up getting the screen dome, but ended up getting the vinyl dome. I think that it is a Fabrico??. I can always add the screen top later, but I don't think that the screen dome will heat the pool. The dome I bought has 3 windows and 1 entry. I am concerned about...

    Sun dome

These trees would have to be removed by pros. They are very close too the pool and house. I have had them all cut back, but I still have tree garbage in my pool everyday. I really like the trees, I don't want to cut them down. This is why I like the idea of the dome.

The one I am looking at is for a above ground and the dome will be $1,000.00 bucks. I am ordering it now. I will not use it all winter, i just want to extend some fall and spring swimming.

    Sun dome

I was searching around for pool stuff and came across a pool dome. I have never giving it any thought before, but now looking at it, I want one. I spend day after day cleaning my pool, since I am surrounded by oaks and my pool is always cold. We have been considering a heater, but it will cost...

    stripped drain plug

I really don't know much about pumps and filters. I got a Lomart pool with a Spectra 3 tank and Lomart pump. It does the job and it is basically brand new, I bought everything last july. We only use the pool for really three months. Would you suggest a bigger sand filter?? I think I have a 17"...

    stripped drain plug

Good tip. It is the threads on the tank that are stripped. The cap is fine. I think the threads were damaged to begin with. I thought about just glueing the cap on to get through the summer and getting a new tank for next season, but this would be worst case scenario. You mentioned the pipe...

    stripped drain plug

I over tightened my cap on my drain plug and stripped the plastic threads on my sand filter tank. I tried using some thread tape and it is helping, but there is still a little drip. Is there anyway to repair this, or will I have to buy a new tank? The drain is molded into the tank, so there is...

    Started Hot tub today

Well I started my hot tub today and I think it is going well. The tub is a Keys-backyard (Infinity), not the greatest, but it is a spa in my backyard and it feels great. This is a test spa for us, we got a unbelievable deal on the tub, so for the money if we get a year or two problem free years...

swiching from synergy to bbb - NJPoolGuy

Re: swiching from synergy to bbb Well to start off I am not a pool expert just a sceptic. I am not a newb to pool care, just a newb to my own pool in my own home. I grew up with a pool at my parents house and have been around a pool for about three decades. As far as the BBB system goes, in...

    swiching from synergy to bbb

You are doing something wrong then. I use Synergy and have no cloudy water issues. You should not have to add anything. Do you have a auto chlorinator?? Run it wide open and add 1 tab per thousand gallons. I also add 1/2 to 1 cupful of Calcium Hypochlorite( diluted ) once a week if it is...

    Solar cover

Yeah the BBB sounds good and price efficent, but I am very impressed with the Synergy system. I never have to do anything, there are no hassles. Once a week I add 11 tabs in the chorlinator and a bottle of clear and a half a cap full of Calcium Hypochlorite( diluted ) I test once or twice a...

Not a good year to buy a pool in New England....

Can you send some rain down to Capemay NJ??? It has been dry hazy hot and humid. I lost my lawn in June to the heat that came extra early this year. The last two weeks have been comfortable and yet dry, a few T Storms with a quick downpour, but we need a all day all night soaker..The last few...

    New pool guy

My pool store seems to have a very reliable water test. They take a droper and drop the water into these little plastic boxes. It then relates to a computer and you get a complete printed sheet with all the levels. It seems hi tech to me anyway. But I am interested in the TF-100 test kit. I have...

    Solar cover

I have a Lomart pool with a auto chlorinator. I use the Synergy system which is very easy to use. You put in about 11 tabs in the chlorinator and a bottle of synergy clear once a week. I have also added 1 cap of Calcium Hypochlorite( diluted ) once a week during the extreme heat and humidity. I...

    Solar cover

Hi guys, I have a 21 ft round that I just installed a month and a half a ago. I used a solar cover in the beginning of July and I started to to get a bit of a algae problem so I took it off and have not used it since. I was not filtering the pool enough. I think I was filtering about 4 hours a...

    Pool Vacuum not very productive

I just bought a polaris super turtle and it seems to work great. It works off the return rather than the skimmer. I am impressed with it. It does not get the sides so well, but you can only expect so much.

    New pool guy

Hi guys I am a new pool owner. I bought a 21ft round and added a custom 8X8 deck. I am still trying to get to the landscaping done, just not enough time in the day. I wanted a much larger pool, but with the zoning regulations, I was only allowed a 21ft. I have a acre, but most of my property is...
