First spa. May have over done it with the chemicals.

For Christmas I got my wife one of those Lay-Z-Spa Palm Springs inflatable hot tubs. This thing is very cool, but last night I put some all in one pool granules in it and this morning it has a FC level of 20. Do I need to dump the water? Is an FC level of 20 safe to sit in? Thanks for the help...

Arizona pool, summer, and free chlorine usage.

So it looked like my pool was holding an FC Level of 27 before I went to bed last night. I woke up this morning, tested, and I was at 20. I guess there's still an infection? I'm worried though because tomorrow I leave for a week long trip and I don't have anyone that can tend to the pool. I'm...

Arizona pool, summer, and free chlorine usage.

My pool right now is crystal clear but I've noticed that it's going through free chlorine much faster than normal. It's a lot hotter now. Above 100 everyday and the pool feels very warm. Here were a lot of palm flowers in the pool the other day so I considered that there may have been algae...

Levels seem fine but pool water is green.

Hey guys just wanted to give an update. Pool is crystal clear now! If you look straight down into it, it's almost like there's no water all. Thanks for everyone help. I did the overnight test and only lost 1ppm of FC, .5 CC. This is really a great, helpful community.

Levels seem fine but pool water is green.

Going to keep at it. At this point is there any knowing how much more SLAM'ing I need to do? What indicates I can quit and stop running the pump 24/7?

Levels seem fine but pool water is green.

Aright, I don't know what happened overnight but all the green is gone in my pool. It's amazing. Looking clearer but not crystal clear so I'll keep at it. This SLAM stuff TFP way is remarkable. Here's a picture of my steps and the pool now.

Levels seem fine but pool water is green.

I've got this one photo. You can see the steps in the distance. At work and I'll take better ones when I get home. Thanks for being encouraging. This seems so daunting but I'll just have faith in the process and see where it takes me. edit: sorry about sideways photo. Posted from my phone.

10 days! Is this bleach/slam method really the best way?

Levels seem fine but pool water is green.

I have a tf-100 test kit. I've been brushing and ruining my barracuda this entire time and don't have ladders or lights to worry about as far as cleaning goes. I just recently unplugged the skimmer to see if a regular circulation of the water would help anything. So the water isn't perfectly...

Levels seem fine but pool water is green.

Hey gang. A couple of days ago it rained and afterwards my pool looked a little cloudy and the water had a green tint. My TA levels were around 140 but everything else seemed pretty fine but I would lose a several ppm's of FC each day to where I was adding a half a gallon of bleach each day. I...

Is there anything I need to be doing immediately after having people in the pool?

So I've finally got my pool back to looking crystal clear thanks to this site. I want to keep it that way so I was wondering if I need to be doing anything after having people in the pool. Should I wait a while and test the chlorine afterwards? Should I turn on the pump?

My first SLAM. Having a hard time maintaining shock levels. Is this normal?

So five hours later after my last post I tested again and found that I went from an FC of 24 down to 17. I added another gallon of liquid chlorine. Also, I don't know if it matters but I live in Mesa AZ where it's been well over 100 every day lately and I'm sure the temperature of my pool is...

My first SLAM. Having a hard time maintaining shock levels. Is this normal?

Hey everyone, sorry for not replying. So I woke up this morning and did another test and found that over night my FC levels held ok. Tested and showed that FC was 6.5 and CC was .5. So I added 3 gallons of chlorine, waited an hour and just tested to find my FC levels at 28. I think I finally...

My first SLAM. Having a hard time maintaining shock levels. Is this normal?

Hey everyone. Got my test kit and found that despite Leslie's guidance, I did in fact have chlorine in my pool and that they were full of it. My pool was still cloudy and my free chlorine levels were very low so I decided to try SLAM'ing for the first time. For my 16000 gallon pool I added...

Discovered this forum too late. Can't get chlorine to stay in pool and need some help

I just ordered the Tf-100. I've been skeptical but I bought those test strips to test my levels which Leslie's constantly told me was an accurate way to test the water, but it never seemed that useful to me. I'm going to hold off on adding more chemicals until the test kit arrives. Do do you...

Discovered this forum too late. Can't get chlorine to stay in pool and need some help

That's encouraging. I'm looking at all the empty jugs of chlorine in my backyard and it's a scary thought that all of it did nothing. I've been pouring over all the schools. It's a lot of information to take in all at once but I'll figure it out. I'll keep adding chlorine in the meantime. Thanks...

Discovered this forum too late. Can't get chlorine to stay in pool and need some help

Thanks for the welcome! I've been adding a gallon every hour. Is there any way to calculate how much chlorine total I'll need? Is this something I can do with the information I have, or do I need to get my test kit asap? I don't want to add more chemicals if it's not going to do anything. Thanks...

Discovered this forum too late. Can't get chlorine to stay in pool and need some help

Hi everyone. I've been spending the better part of the day trying to get my pool to hold chlorine and nothing seems to be working. I've spent a ton of time and money today at Leslie's and its achieved nothing. I can't be spending money this way on the pool and searched online for a solution and...
