Pool Equipment in the Sun drastically affecting the thermostat?!?

Thanks. Ya, the outside air temp is not a concern for me, but it does illustrate just how much effect the sun is having on the equipment. I read in another thread that a lot of pool guys do not recommend enclosing, or even covering pool equipment. Other than ventilation issues (which a cover...

Pool Equipment in the Sun drastically affecting the thermostat?!?

I believe that is correct. That is the only thing that makes sense given the two temperature readouts. Sorry if I confused the matter. Like I said, I'm completely novice at this. I'm studying up like I am back in college, so it's starting to come to me, but I'm probably over-analyzing everything!

Pool Equipment in the Sun drastically affecting the thermostat?!?

Hi everyone, I'm still a little new here, so I apologize if this is covered somewhere else. I couldn't find a thread that hit my topic directly though. I've just recently started heating my pool a bit to create that perfect swimming experience. I have been setting the target temp for the pool...

    New Pool

Thanks!! It sure is. I love your location "Riverside or Lake Havasu." That's basically us as well. We are out in Havasu about 4 weeks/summer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    New Pool

Cool. Kinda what I thought. I'll buy the t-100! It feels like I'm adding chemicals a lot, so I'm hoping I can get it more stabilized soon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    New Pool

Thanks. I don't think it's much. Chlorine, PH and free bromine. It's just the simple Leslie's kit with a 2 sided tube and 3 droppers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Can anyone tell me what the TF-100 will do for me that the Leslie's <span style="background-color: rgb(250, 250, 250);"><font color="#333333">Basic Poolcare DPD Test Kit won't. Since I already have the Leslie's kit, is there a cheaper way to assemble the T-100? I'm just trying to make sure I'm...

Construction Defect Question (Poor Pebble Job)

Hi Jamie, I'm sure they do, but I'm hoping I don't need to go that direction. IF the PB and/or sub don't cooperate the way they should (so far they are), then I will certainly go that route. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Construction Defect Question (Poor Pebble Job)

The PB came out today and went for a swim. He was pretty cool about it and agreed it was pretty messed up. He kinda laid a sad story on me that it's going to cost him $9k (as if I care). I asked him why the **** he doesn't pass it onto his sub. He said the guy would just say there was nothing...

Construction Defect Question (Poor Pebble Job)

But, how would they fix that unless they rip out shotcrete, rebar, and re-excavate?! Honestly I'm not completely broken up about the depth--just hate not getting what I paid for. By the way, is that depth supposed to be measured from the deck or the waterline? My measurement is based on...

    New Pool

Thanks! It's my favorite part for sure. From the house, it just looks like a cool rock formation with moss growing all over it. Then, you get up to the deck and you see the fridge. My other favorite part is the real peat moss on all the rocks. When the rock guy begged me to do it, I was...

Construction Defect Question (Poor Pebble Job)

Good info!!! Do you have any pics of those two? I had looked into them and declined based on cost, but I've never found a good pic of them. I had also thought about just putting them on my two reef steps. What do you think of that? Our rock guy had also brought up a glow in the dark pebble that...

    New Pool

I know I kind of walked into that one chief [emoji4]. I was actually counting the minutes until somebody responded with those exact words. Do most people here completely maintain their pool on their own? I'm guessing most don't get pool guys. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Construction Defect Question (Poor Pebble Job)

So, the PB has tentatively agreed to redo the pebble on THE ENTIRE POOL AND SPA. He's going to come down with some goggles and check it out one last time to make sure it can't be fixed, but he has all of a sudden seen the light. Any opinions as to if redoing the entire thing is overkill, or if...

    New Pool

Haha you can kind of see the skull and one starfish in one of my pics. That pic was done before it was finished though. A good number of the starfish are underwater, but I will try to get a good pic of those too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

How's this?!? Thanks Chief! - - - Updated - - - Hey jblizzle, I am currently using Leslie's Basic Poolcare DPD Test Kit. Guessing it's not super good? - - - Updated - - - Wow, I really messed up the quoting, and I can't figure out how to delete posts! Sorry for muddying up this thread!

Construction Defect Question (Poor Pebble Job)

For what it's worth (and this is a little off-topic, but it goes to the lack of attention to detail by the general contractor), the pool was supposed to be 3.5-5.5-3.5. I measured it the other day. It's 3" short on the sides and 9" short in the middle. That 9" is a huge difference!

Construction Defect Question (Poor Pebble Job)

That's exactly what this is: stonescape mini pebble. It's interesting you were told not to brush it....we were told we absolutely had to do it twice a day for a month. I'm going to try to get them to redo it, but it's going to be a battle.

Construction Defect Question (Poor Pebble Job)

It's the guy who installed the pebble. We don't have pebbleTec. We have National Stonescape (I think that's what it's called). I don't think the pebble guy I referenced works for them though. He's just the guy who applies it.

Construction Defect Question (Poor Pebble Job)

Thanks for replying Jamie! The pebble guy was definitely in line with the general contractor (neither of them want to do any more work of course). He was the one, however, who said that "they must have run out of pebble" for the spot on the spa. That comment really ticked me off. I held my...

Construction Defect Question (Poor Pebble Job)

Hi everyone! I'm brand new here, so I hope I've posted this in the correct area. If not, please kindly move my thread. We had our pool built 3 weeks ago, with a pebble finish. Parts of it seemed pretty rough to begin with, but of course we were told we needed to brush it every day to wear...
