That's what I imagined might be the problem. I don't want any CH in my vinyl lined pool right? And the only way to lower CH is to remove water so it doesn't sound like a good option for me.

My pool filter is leaking water around the handle on my multiport valve. Is there a gasket that just needs replacing because I don't see any way of tightening it? I use a Sta-Rite Cristal-Flo T-210WF Sand Filter.

In the end I decided that the pump was not worth repairing. The shaft was so rusted that I would rather buy a new pump and not have to worry about something like this happening again. Found a cheap replacement new for $130 and it works great. Thanks for your help everyone!

There is not screw on my impeller. The shaft looks really rusted so I think it might just be stuck on. I'm considering just breaking the impeller off and replacing it. This pump is at least 10 years old. Do you think its worth replacing or fixing?

The motor's impeller won't budge. I've tried using tools and it won't come off. Any ideas how to loosen it?

Hello, My pool motor seems to be leaking all of a sudden. It sprays water where the motor meets the basket and also at the other end of the motor where the Low/Off/High switch is. Do you think this problem is because of the pool motor shaft? Should I go ahead and just replace it to see if it helps?

I think the patch I replaced did the trick because my pool doesn't appear to be leaking now. I will do the dye test when I've shocked the pool and can see it!

Pool water didn't drop more than 1 ppm last night but it did drop once the sun was out again. Should I go off the OCLT test result and take it that the SLAMing process is over? I kept it at shock level today just in case. But tomorrow I was planning on letting it drop so I can use it.
