33,000gal liner pool with deep end. Indiana. All my number are in recommended levels except alkalinity which is 200. I put a gallon of meradic acid in but it only lowers alkalinity about 20-30? Do I just need to keep adding more meradic acid?

During the slam process should I keep auto cover open or closed? Does it matter? Wasn’t sure even with no one swimming if I should keep open with the high amount of cholrine in water? Or should I close to help keep it high?

Dropped to 16ppm so says add another gallon doing that now

We had it built last year. 1st year I followed pool store and everything was great but I think it was because it was brand new pool. Then I realized they we’re screwing me so I found Trouble free pool. And no I’m learning as much as possible. Any idea on cost to convert to salt water?

No I did not do the slam. I just added the 2 gallons per day until Taylor kit came in then I stopped for one day to see if it would drop much and it went from 5.2 FC to zero in 24hours so I added 3 gallons to get back on track
