It might happen. I wish them luck, because I curse the 20' I end up carrying it every year to startup the pool. If they really want it enough to carry it 150' to the road (assuming they want to stay hidden enough to NOT drive a car right onto my property), they can have it. Pump weighs a ton.

Are you using the flex pipe that is smooth on the outside? It might not be correct for your application. Most pool stores will have the hose you need.......its basically short lengths of pool vacuum hose......ridges on the outside and a flat portion at each end where it connects to the pool...

Try having someone cycle the pump (turn on, turn off, etc) and see if you see water squirting out of anywhere when the pump is turned off. It wont run out constantly after the pump is turned off, it will just squirt for a bit until the pressure is relieved then stop leaking. Could be a bunch...

Its an AG pool, so you are referring to the ends where the hoses connect to the return jet (in the wall) and the skimmer inlet? As long as you have the right diameter hose, it shouldnt be hard to get them sealed. Might try double clamps, or (even better, and probably more important) BETTER...

Only thing I can think of is the fairly large height difference between the pool water, filter pad and LQ. The filter is about 2' above the pool water, the LQ is about 4' above that (then add the height of where the inlet line goes up to on the LQ). Wonder if I might get better results putting...

Yeah once it was all together, it was kind of a "OH YEAH!" moment.......I realized why the check valve should be on the *other* hose. Dont know if you missed my edit, but I added the check valve. It buzzes while teh filter is running, and it seems to have lowered the flow a bit (from 3.0 or so...

Just wanted to stop in and say I installed the LQ without a problem today. Took maybe 30 minutes (would have been less without the 2 yr old wanting to "help daddy" :) ). I used the suction side drain plug on the pump for the outlet from the LQ, picked up a MPT to barb elbow at Lowes...fit...

Have you tried reserving vacuuming until your filter is on the verge of needing a backwash? Needing backwash means a dirty filter, and a dirty sand filter filters better than a clean one. It might catch this stuff before it makes it back out to the pool. -Chris

Are you reading the CC correctly? Ive never used strips so I dont know how they read FC vs CC. If you are, you need to bring the pool to shock levels of chlorine, pretty quickly. Even if CC was 1.0 instead of 2.0, you are still looking at *something* growing in the pool, so it needs to be...
