I'm around the 20 to 30% loss range. Stenner pump puts about 30 ozs of chlorine in a day.

OOPS I was looking at the fixed rate pumps. I like them because they have less moving parts. I make my adjustments with run time, usually about 30 min. a day in the summer.

The 85MHP5 pumps about 7.5 ozs a minute. You would be looking at really short run times.

You could get a current sensing relay. If the pump is not drawing a load nothing turns on. Someone on here has that type of setup to turn on SWG only when pump is on.

If you stop at 1.5 to 2 ppm loss at night it sounds like you still have something going on. Pool stores are not know for thier test accuracy.

I ordered mine from USwatersystems everything was included for the install of the pump. Get the black ¼ inch tubing it's more UV resistance. If you can pick your nose you can install one of these.:) If you are interested in the 15 gallon barrel pm me.

If you cut the bottom off a bleach bottle you can make a big funnel. I also cut a U shape piece out of the side so the top of the carboy fits in it, very little if any splash.

I have my stenner on a separate timer. Car wash near me was selling their 15 gal empty barrels. My run time on the pump is about a half hour a day. 15 min raises chlorine level by 1 for me. My have to increase run time as the pool gets more use over the summer.

Shop around. I got my peristaltic pump for just under 200 with free shipping. I have a variable speed pool pump so the injection rate stays constant with the peristaltic pump.

I have the hayward ecostar and usually the pump will try and reprime itself if it starts sucking air.

Don't worry it will go down in a day or 2.

If you store it on its side you will distort the shaft seals because of the weight of the motor and it will quit running. Think of the weight of the motor hanging sideways on the shaft leading to the little prop on the top. It should be stored upright you can sit it on a piece of 2x4 so it does...

The best way to get good consistent readings. I had mine for at least 2 years.

What about making a 2” manifold for the intake being feed by all the 1 ½ intakes placing upgraded valves on the 1 ½ pipes . And using 2 “ for the pad plumbing. Make a 2” return manifold run all the returns off that. Placing upgraded valves on the return lines not on the manifolds.

Are you removing the cover completely when you measure? I know when removing my cover some water comes out with it, some water get’s on top also and evaporates. Not sure how much.
