Yes, use #20 Silica sand, a.k.a. Pool Filter Sand(if you buy it at the pool store). Do not use playground sand! :hammer: Adam

I'd use the larger filter. The more filtration area the better. I don't think you really have to worry about the filter being to big unless the filter and pump are grossly oversized/undersized, which yours won't be. Adam

Yes, you can add chlorine to that size pool, just a very small amount, like a hot tub. You will probably still have to change the water, maybe every week or two because you have no way to filter it. Adam

How many GPM does your pump put out total? I'd imagine with a smaller pump like that, and all those parallel coils, you should be able to divert the full flow through the panels. The air bubbles are to be expected as the water fills the tubes and empties them of air. These should go away after...

Yep, that's how I vacuum out spa. In the pool often we'll make a whirlpool, which consentrates all the junk in the middle, then just use the hose to vac it up. Much quicker than vac.ing the whole pool. Adam

If you can, try to break it up, maybe 6 hrs during the day and 6 at night. This way doesn't let the water sit stagnent for so long and thus less chance of algae and FC "dead spots". Adam

Not 100% sure about this because I don't have your test, but a CH level of 30 sounds WAYYY low. 300 sounds more realistic. The TA level of 70 does sound about right. You don't need to raise that up to 100 BTW, it should be fine at 70. :wink: Good luck with the party! Adam

What about this one? Here The thing I'm worried about is the temp. difference. It says it turns on when the panels are 10* above, and off when panels reach 3* above pool/spa water temp. Will the control still control black mat panels with these settings? Adam

Another thing to look into if you're not going to be there often and you go with the SWG is an Acid Feed system. This will ensure your PH stays in check when you're not there to check it. Adam

I believe normal operating temp for these motors is around 140*F(think I read that somewhere here). the motors on both pumps I've had run hot to the touch. Adam
