Should water come out the jets if on Rinse

I ahve my Multiport Valve set to "Rinse" in order to reduce the water in my pool. Noticed there is still water coming out the jets (where the water normally goes in the pool under normal operation). Now i am wondering does this indicate an issue with the valve or is that normal?

    How to double CYA scale?

Tested my pool yesterday and today following the K-2006 instructions. My CYA levels seem to be above 100 (max on the readout). How can I go about changing the test to get my results?

    First test and no chlorine?

I had my pool service come out yesterday, they left a cards showing CHL 3+ (I assume that is chlorine levels). Today is my first time using my Taylor K-2006C and I added about 6 (instead of the 2) dippers of R-0870 and my sample is still mostly clear. Does that mean there is no no free chlorine...

Cloudy water coming back in pool when vacuuming

Help me understand the filter issue. It is a sand filter, recently replaced the sand (using proper pool filter sand) and inspected all internal piping and laterals, all are fine (no cracks). Anything else could be wrong with a sand filter? -Should note I only did that as the pool company tried...

Cloudy water coming back in pool when vacuuming

Well... that is kinda obvious, question here is, should a sand filter filter the white cloudy stuff? Or is it not passing through the filter?

Cloudy water coming back in pool when vacuuming

Well... I do not have any test-kit (since I had my pool maintenance fully outsourced)... Updated Signature with what i have. Cloudy water coming back in pool when vacuuming

I have a pool cleaning service, and the cleaner showed me that when he hooks the vacuum up cloudy white water comes into the pool. The pool company has quoted me a $2k new filter, but I checked my sand filter and there are no cracks (and all new sand). I also replaced the gasket in the multiport...

    Air in Sand Filter

I had a pool guy come out and he stated that it is normal to have air in the system and have some bubbles come out of the return into the pool. The pump is variable speed and low rpm is about 1,200, whereas high RPM is about 2,700. The pump does not loose prime, it keeps working just fin. At...

    Air in Sand Filter

Thank you for the quick response. I am taking about the pump "Strainer basket". Should this always be full of water? Because on lower RPM it is only half full. From your answer it sounds you agree that there is a leak on the suction side. I think i will use my home warranty and go from there.

Is it normal that water level in spa drops?

Our pump is on a timer and off at night. When the pump is off the water level in the spa drops about 10inch. I thought it's because it goes into the pool as the spa sits higher. Normal operation there is a mini waterfall from the spa into the pool. Today while troubleshooting the air in the...

    Air in Sand Filter

In my pool the sand filter is the highest element and hence Air accumulates in it. Not sure if there is a leak on the intake site, but when I turn the pump off, open it. Fill it with water and then let it run on high RPM, the pump filter (with the window) is full of water. Once the rpm go down...
