Are you talking about the raised exterior wall? If so, you can leave it raw but might not look so good over time. I did a cement stucco over mine. Just a thin skim coat of colored cement. Cheap and looks good.

Your pic #2 is drains unless you have solar, then they could be solar returns. If they are the only holes in the bottom then they are the drains like PoolGate said. They need covers for safety!

Don't know about mounting a stereo. I would think a marine radio would be safe, but they make a blue tooth stereo that mounts inside the shell.

They will clean, scrap off loose particles, and spray over. The rough surface gives the plaster something to grab onto.

Yep, those are panels.

Here is the inlet to the panels. You can see one bib mounted lower than the panels on the intake for draining. I have not put a bubble level on the beam, but suspect it maybe slightly tilted to assist draining.

Here the plumbing is exiting the filter to the left side of the pic. Through a check valve and into the diverter. Up goes to the panels, straight through it bypasses the panel. On the return from the panels (Higher pipe) it goes through another check valve and through another type of flow valve...
