So I test the fill Water and the P/H is 6.8, CH 100 and TA 120. I was asked earlier if I had done this. I wanted to submit my results.

To save regents is there certain tests I don’t need to do with the TF 100 on the fill water?

No I’m Going to do that today as we have an automatic filler and drain built into the pool so I have meant to add that to my notes

Yeah that number was prior to the addition of the FC for the day so we’re set there. Just wanted to confirm the TA. When running the CSI on the app it does indeed look good however I thought over time if I should align it with the recommended level of 70-90.

Did my normal Sunday test yesterday and here were my results: FC 4.8 CC 0 PH 7.8 TA 60/70 range color was hard to tell this time CH 300 CYA 60 Temp 85 So my question is, in the event when I retest today the TA, and it is 60. Should I raise it using baking soda or let it be? If i should raise...

Sorry and to answer your question earlier about 7.5. I figured I can’t go wrong in the middle. I have the app but haven’t signed up for the premium service. As a financial advisor I tend to always fall back on excel lol however for $8 that saves me from having to do it seprately as I use the app...

Okay sounds good I’ll try that. I will log both everyday now for a month and see what happens. I can turn the breaker off on the ozone which I did to test that.

Gotcha. So with a CYA of 60 my range for FC is 7-9. So if I add enough to bring to 9, and my daily loss is 1-2, I should be adding enough bleach to bring back to 9 daily? I understand now that they are neutral. I added 70 ounces of Bleech and it raised it to 8 and lost 4 from yesterday already...

Well I thought the whole purpose of testing the FC over a period of time was to determine the loss so I can add enough to buy me a few days until I add more. Seems like a lot of work to have to come home everyday and add bleach. If my level needs to be 7-9. Couldn’t I add enough to get me to...

So as we discussed if my PH was 7.6 prior to adding 70 ounces of bleach, it raised with the addition of the bleach and will lower back as it’s used. Leaving it at the extended level is fine according to you guys given it will lower back. What happens if at the retest a few days later the PH is...

Gotcha. Thanks again for your help. So it sounds like for individuals whom use liquid chlorine as their main sanitizer, when going away either have to a pool service or have a family or friend swing by during extended leave. I would have tought pucks would extend the life of the chlorine howevr...

Okay perfect. The loss isn’t quite that high. I have been measuring this and it’s been around 1-2.

So at the level of 24 for CYA of 60, how much liquid should I place in at once? That’s 2 gallons and 3 cups of chlorine. Should I do this over a few hours or two days? I couldn’t find the maximum amount to put in in one day in the book.

I would be also shocking the pool with liquid prior to the adding of the two pucks so I can keep the FC on the higher end so when the daily loss occurs the pucks are adding it back in.

I read the entire book. I didn’t see anything (page number if you have it) about PH rise after introduction of liquid chlorine. It does state it’s pure and loses its power over time and to UV and organic but I didn’t read the other part.

Alright well that is new info on the PH rise for me. I always thought it was just an after effect of using liquid versus tabs (where tabs are acidic) and after mixed in the pool you would need to add acid to lower. Well that makes my life much easier then. Thank you. I’ll just add my chlorine...

    Plaster ?

So this website has been very good to me these last few weeks. I recently built a pool that finished in January. Wanted to drop a photo of the plaster and pool thus far. Im sure I’m crazy OCD but wanted to make it’s nothing more serious. On the sun shelf and floor of the pool there are still...
