    Yes exactly the same My hydrochloric acid is 36% and I use 34.6% Not a lot of difference and you can always put in a bit less Be careful as it lowers pH as well, best to concentrate on lowering pH and then aerating to raise the pH until you have the right numbers

    That won't be the problem because when the main drain is open there are no bubbles in the pump basket only when the skimmer line is open If the "O" ring and lid was a problem it would be constant
