It rains almost daily here, but the sun it brutal. I have my SWG running about 12 hours a day right now (7:30AM to 7:30PM) (I figured I am better off having it produce more chlorine than less at this stage). Once I am confident that my CYA is about 70 (which looks like Ideal per the chart)...

So my CYA is almost fully disolved (as of last night), and interestingly enough, even though it was a sunny day (like almost every other summer day), my FC increased from about 5.0 - 5.5 the night before to 6.0 - 6.5 last night. I decreased the SWG output by 5% and gonna see what results look...

SWG should take care of Chlorine... so my bigger problem will be PH I think/hope.

First thing I did when I opened the box was pull out each Regent and checked dates and confirmed they were good for at least 6 to 12 more months. By my math within the next 6 months I will be ordering more stuff. I am guessing the one I will use up the quickest is the Chlorine testing ones...

Thanks. It looks like many will not fit the test box (which I am fine with). Do they have tips that will produce the same sized drops? (the Idea of opening and moving liquids between bottles is not that appealing to me)

I will be re-testing PH and TA later today after breakfast (got up specifically to do the FC test before sun came up and hit the pool). FC is now 9.2PPM (As of last night and this morning). CC is still 0.

I did a overnight chlorine test and the results for last night were identical to the results this morning (no loss). I believe that I can now declare the pool officially algie free.

Just found another reason I should have got rid of pool guy. I got a low flow warning and spent a couple of hours trying to figure it out. The SWG filter screen/strainer looked like it hadn't been cleaned since the beginning of time. Thanks for the links and info... so much to read and learn.

It is a filter Cartridge (looks like a cylnadric version of a car air filter). I went and cleaned it like 3 times with a hose in last week to get Green Algie out of it in last week so that sucker is pretty clean :)
