Glad to hear backwashing was the solution. With extra pool cleaning going on and if there was lots of debris being picked up, then the filter will get dirtied quicker than normal. Hope you have a great pool season as well!

What size is the pump? If its one of intex 1000gal per hour or smaller, they dont really have suction, they just push water back into the pool. If its 2500 gal per hour then it will have suction unless you have a blockage somewhere or it isnt primed properly.

Just tossing this out there, but what about rhino lining like used on truck beds? I know it wouldnt be smooth, but put a foam layer between liner and wall? Its tough as snot and from what i can tell is water tight. Let me know if my idea is not feasable or water tight.

I have jist a small 10 round intex, and 5 kids which 2 are waaaay too big play in it and when they get rowdy the pool rocks around and water splashes all over. The frame wobbles with the movement but holds quite well. Im sure your pool is just fine.

Did you check to see if there was anything in the impeller or that it spins freely? If its jammed or bot spinning freely that can cause the motor to get hot and possibly cause the hum from it trying to turn. Just a thought.

It sounds like maybe your chlorine your adding is stronger than we think as it shouldnt jump by so much i would think

Yes, just make the second patch larger than the first one by a decent amount. Take your time and make sure its applied without air bubbles. My double patch has held up pretty well so far this summer since being done. The water pressure propabaly helped seal it as well as the adhesive cured too.

I had to patch my pool earlier this summer and my vinyl patch didnt say it had to ge a certain way. I just cut the proper sized pieces and patched as the kit told me to. I dont believe there is a certain side to apply the glue to. I double layered my patch as well as it was on bottom near a seam.

Have you tried going to a lowes or home depot and taking a section of your hose with you? Look in the plumbing section. When i replumbed my pool with pvc piping i went with the black rubber clamp on adapters to go from 1 1/2" pipe to the non standard intex/summer waves fittings on the pool...

Are you trying to just backwash your sand? Or do a deeper cleaning?

Its possible to get something in the blades. Id also check the impeller area as well just to make sure that area is clear as well. Never know what you might find.
