We're back from Yosemite and while we were there we ordered rope light to put under the steps like this: There will be no stubbed toes here! Today Mike began pouring the concrete forms for all of the mesh fence posts. I built a foam planter and plastered it and then plastered the risers on...

Thank you! A sunken bar was on Mike's must have list. I thought it would be too much work but he won me over. I'm really happy with the final design and I'm looking forward to it all coming together.

The patio cover will be a simple shed roof with the lower portion over the bar stools in the pool and a rain sheet that falls just beyond the barstools from the patio cover's eave

The post will come out of the planter right next to the counter and pool coping. We won't get to the patio cover until probably next year so the planter is a nice way of having the footing in place without it being and eyesore. We did the same thing with the pergola out front. It took us a year...

The last step is in! Ok, so we didn't extend the steps to the pool because the gunite doesn't extend all the way down in one part where the Baja shelf is to the base of the stairs so we'd have exposed dirt. Also, and the main reason is I thought it would be weird if the stairs ended under the...

I want to put a light on top middle of each riser under each tread but Mike doesn't seem that interested...so it may be something I just do on my own

The tread of the stairs will be the same composite decking and the risers will be finished with a hardiplank and painted the same color as the house - Chelsea gray (Ben Moore)

Today and yesterday we worked on more grading and building the steps to the sunken bar We have one more step and then we can back fill that area and add gravel. Today our sound wall is getting inspected so we can work on that some more. Tomorrow we leave for Yosemite for a long weekend [emoji1]

Aluminum - I don't think it needs bonding Never mind regardless of energy potential looks like any metal within 5' of pool has to be bonded according to the NEC... [emoji57] maybe acrylic?

Owner/builder SoCal The plan dimensions probably show finished edge dimensions. Look at your cross section from your engineering page and the thickness of the gunite + your finish (plaster) is how much deeper/wider you need to dig. Some areas call for more gunite depending on where they are in...

This is how it looks right now. A little neglected and the trampoline needs to get moved to the grass in the last photo by the a/c unit

It is climbable lol but eventually we want to put some steps up it to make it easier and add some landscaping so it isn't an eyesore. I'm actually not that sore - I think my body is getting used to all the yard work.

Some update on our progress: we finished the French drain, landscape fabric and got a lot of gravel moved into the backyard to start the deck. The majority of our irrigation lines are done and connected to their valves. Once we move that pile of dirt we can finish them. Mike tied the downspout...

Vegas OB! Just got plans back and need some feedback (pics included :) )

I think the darker color makes the spillway always look wet. I hope that's what you were going for because I think it's perfect [emoji1303]
