    New Beach Build

It's funny how water color can look so different depending on time of day, sun, clouds, water depth, etc. I think the gold pebble liner is beautiful and I think it looks especially pretty in this pool with the 8 ft water depth. Love it!

    New Beach Build

Well shoot, that's the best compliment you can get....when it's a liner pool, lol. Looks great!!! So happy that you were able to swim this weekend! We're still waiting on our liner to be installed....and waiting, and waiting..ugh! Kim's Note-Fixed it LOL That is quite a compliment as it sure...

    Pool Steps

I like Kim's mock-up too as they are closer to where everyone will probably be hanging out so they don't have to walk as far to get in. The only thing I would do is turn the steps so you don't have to walk in front of the hot tub to get to them. Have them sitting parallel to the ledge in front...

    New build in Austin

My only concern with having the steps coming off the tanning ledge is people coming in and out of the pool splashing around when you're trying to get some sun in your ledge loungers.....

New build corner radius potential issue

At this moment I truly dislike my PB but this is how he handled the corners in our pool. It is a hard plastic type material. and this is after the cantilever coping Hope this helps you.

Should I fire my PB? Help!

Okay so quick update: PB is coming over this week with another cement contractor who he believes will be able to "fix" and "make pretty" these saw cuts. Fingers crossed that all works out, where we are happy, they pay for the fix and project can move forward. Thank you all for your kind...

Should I fire my PB? Help!

Dirk your pool is just beautiful!! LOVE, LOVE the water color! It looks so nice with your stone color. I think you must have described what you wanted to the saleslady perfectly. My pool is going to be a vinyl liner vs. gunite. I'm in Michigan where gunite is the exception and vinyl is the...

Should I fire my PB? Help!

Oh this is brilliant!! I just may have to follow your lead on this one. Glad your builder came around and did what was right...fixed your issues. In the end, that's all we want is to get the job we're paying for right? Really don't think we have unreasonable expectations. Again, so happy for...

Should I fire my PB? Help!

To your first point, I really don't think it will come to having to sue anyone either...God I really hope not. I will however take your advice and seek out my state's contractor's board and at least gain some knowledge so I can have a little ammunition. Your pool is gorgeous! I'm so happy for...

Should I fire my PB? Help!

We do have three older kids (20, 17, 12) and I've thought about that with the rock idea. PB suggested grouting or putting some type of sealer on the rocks to keep them in place? Not exactly sure how but that was his thoughts. I have seen the fake grass in between too and like that as well...

Should I fire my PB? Help!

Do you know where I would even start to look to find someone like this in Michigan? Should i just Google it? Again, Vince sent someone himself to see how it could be fixed so even he sought a second opinion on this. He knows he's wrong and am just hoping and praying he comes to his senses...

Should I fire my PB? Help!

Thank you for posting that article Dirk, very interesting reading. Funny, they suggested going to look at other contractors work to compare. We were able to see Vince's own work to compare. He did a colored concrete patio for a local, very popular restaurant in our area. Patio looks great! In...

Should I fire my PB? Help!

Please bear with me as this is a long, sordid tale. We signed our contract end of June for an inground vinyl liner pool (14’ x 36’ rectangle w/sun shelf and bubblers). Our dig started Friday, September 15th. They came back that Monday, finished the dig and put up the steel walls and concrete...

    liner color -Grey?

Picking a liner has got to be one of the hardest decisions! We're in the middle of our pool build and need to pick our liner as well. I'm almost certain we will be going with Reef from Latham. If you haven't done so, check out this thread. There are some great pics from some of the pools here...

That's looking great! You have such a fantastic yard for a pool. I'm still waiting over here to start ours, should be sometime mid-September. I'm thinking we won't be swimming this year but looks like you may have a chance yet! Good for you! What liner did you choose to go with? That is a...
