Cloudy water-scale inside of pool walls

Update: FC dropped to 12.5, dosed with 27oz bleach to bring back to 16, scrubbed the walls and floors again. Ladder is out of pool. I can nearly see the bottom. Will check FC again in 2 hrs and see if I need to dose again. I think I am slowly winning this war, keeping the FC at 16 is the key I...

Cloudy water-scale inside of pool walls

Ok, so I bumped the FC to 16 per the slam instructions last night after the sun went down. This morning, I could almost see the bottom of the pool, tested and the FC had dropped to 12.5, added another 27oz of bleach to bring it back to 16. CC=0, now I can see some stuff on the bottom of the...

    Summer waves pool help

Those intex valves "old ones you are showing" are horrible, they can really restrict the water flow and often break very easily. I like the newer Intex valves that have the rectangular valve on top and screw in and out instead of those with the handle.

Going to attempt to hard plumb pool today

I would recommend also using union couplers at the pump and at the filter connections, makes it easier to remove the pump or filter for maintenance later. Also make sure to put in shutoff valves on the skimmer and returns so you can isolate the pump and filter for maintenance as well.

Cloudy water-scale inside of pool walls

Greetings, I have been slamming my pool a couple of weeks now, pump running 24x7, but I dont understand why the water does not want to clear up. Here are my readings. FC was 6.5 at 4pm yesterday, and tested at 5 at 10am this morning with no added bleach. PH=7.8 TA=130 CH=80 CYA=40 I have...

    Finally Plumbed

Chayne, yeah no regrets on the skimmer adapter, I nearly did what you did until someone pointed me to the adapter on Amazon.

Intex 1000 gph pump-GFI will not reset

Same here, anytime the power fails, my intex GFCI resets itself, I removed, replaced with a water resistant plug, and plugged into the home GFCI with a rainproof cover.

    Finally Plumbed

Hard Plumb of the skimmer to the pump with shutoff valve and union coupling in the event I need to disconnect the pump. New Intex control valve and return, elected to keep the Intex hoses on this side. Custom connector, end of Intex hose removed, then a pvc-elect adapter to connect to...

Cannot get FC level to rise in green pool

I know this is obvious, but with that size pool, be prepared to buy LOTS and LOTS of bleach, and have LOTS of patience, I see way too many people wishing things would clear up sooner.

    Sand vs Cartridge

RobbieH, agreed on closing, but I get lazy in the winter and let it go, alas this is why I deal with it in the spring. After speaking with the wife, she suggested I just be patient and wait for the sand filter to do it's job.. :( So no new toys for me. Besides the sand filter is one year old so...

    Sand vs Cartridge

For $83.00 I think I will pull the trigger on it, and see if I am happier with the cartridge than I am with the current Sand Filter setup. Why not right?

    Sand vs Cartridge

Or how about this, would a filter sock, in the skimmer help with the cloudiness and take some of the load off of the sand filter. PS Here are some results, keep in mind I am in the final stages of my spring slam. FC=7 PH 7.2 CC=0.4 We had a heavy rain yesterday and the pump was off most of...

    Sand vs Cartridge

Texas Splash, I do have the proper test kit you mentioned, what I am speaking to is the time it takes to clear up the dead algae "cloudy water" after the slam is completed and you have passed the Overnight loss test. So the water is balanced, it just seems that the cartridge filter would require...

    Sand vs Cartridge

Greetings, I currently have this model pump Amazon.com : Intex Krystal Clear Sand Filter Pump for Above Ground Pools, 2800 GPH Pump Flow Rate, 110-120V with GFCI : Swimming Pool Sand Filters : Patio, Lawn Garden It works well, but takes forever after a spring opening "green pool" and SLAM to...

BBB user, cloudiness *PICS and NUMBERS*

Mine looked worse than yours a week ago, I got the PH down to 7.2 and then did my slam, water is still cloudy but getting better every day. SLAM DOES WORK, you needed patience. A skimmer sock will also help get some of the particulate matter out of the water, and remember that a sand filter...

Aggregate for base - help with my layers please!

Ditto what Synergy2 said, it is what we used under our pool and had flooding rains this year, no issues, and it did not settle, we are on our second year with this pool.
