    Taming the big green monster

Day 6. Too busy yesterday to post. Better view of deep end and less dead algae settled on the bottom.

    Taming the big green monster

Day 5: a bit late with the post pics. Looking better. You can barely see the vacuum head in the deep end. Time to break out the P.O.P. (pool owner patience). Sand filters take a long time to clear the water. Continuing the SLAM.

Oops, rocks and dirt covered part of my wall bottom and I have bubbling

+1 to ^^^ Still, take care of the outside but assume the inside has rust too. It's still early and maybe not a big problem. No way to get to the inside except remove the liner and fix it. A job needed in probably a few years.

Day 4: green-no-more-monster taming. It's teamed up with the grackles and tree buds to thwart our efforts. But we will prevail. :whip: Reagents are in. CYA 50, FC 24, TA 80. Looking much better. (blue float is the thermometer)

    Taming the big green monster

It's been a long day. Vacuumed, deep cleaned filter, tested and added bleach earlier. Now out of regent so added 1 qt 10% before putting the not-green-but-cloudy monster to bed. In order to sleep tonight without nightmares, we'll be turning off the pump after my nighttime snack...

    Taming the big green monster

Back in business 185 gallons later. :thumleft: Pump running. Added bleach. Forgot about waiting till after the backwash. So, after vacuuming, we'll deep clean the filter with the hose instead of using pool water to backwash.
