I am wondering where you all think would be best to put in the SWG... my return splits after the jandy valve into two branches, one to the main pool & pressure vac, the other to the spa (which is part of the pool). should I put it in the long pipe coming from the heater?

thanks... I guess that's true. I don't really need to clean it... stuff will dry out over the winter and summer until I use it again for late summer (this time of year).

I bought the Buffalo Blizzard leaf net. I bought a pretty big size so it fits well over the pool edges. I then used some medium sized rocks to hold it in place, leaving my Polaris vac running below it picking up any small stuff that might fall below. So far looks good. not sure how I will clean...

Thanks Richard. Lowes had these, and the adapter actually fit and I got the 1.5" hose... I bought two adapters to have a spare.

I spoke to the manufacturer and they said this would be no problem. The seal will indeed stick to the freshly cured seal from a day prior! That is good news. I will try and get it all done in one day. Glad I own a new pair of construction knee pads!

So I am thinking about closing my pool and doing a little research... Reading, etc... I think the concern is about water freezing, expanding and breaking the pipes - so if this is the case then most water needs to be out, but not every last drop. Some people are like drying out the pump basket...
