Hi - got my pool redone and after cleaning manually for a months, finally got my 280 in the water. He is slow and lethargic. I noticed a lot of water coming out by the pressure relief valve, I current have it fully seated hand tight, seems like a ton of water comes out by threads, right under...

SWG advice - my first post

I am wondering where you all think would be best to put in the SWG... my return splits after the jandy valve into two branches, one to the main pool & pressure vac, the other to the spa (which is part of the pool). should I put it in the long pipe coming from the heater?

SWG advice - my first post

I am running the pump now 8 hours a day... no automation at all, pool is gunite and pretty old, but I have it working good. My big issue is not being there all week so the chlorine levels can be an issue. I saw several posts on here talking about the Pureline Pool Salt System 60,000 Gallons -...

SWG advice - my first post

Hi two key things, keeping in mind this pool is at my weekend house - so I am not there all week. I am also the "Pool Guy". 1) pool is 35k gallons, should I get a 40k or 60k, if 60k which would you all recommend. I don't see a Hayward Aquarite for 60k. 2) I was looking at the Aquarite 40k, if...

HELP!!! My pool is about to overflow

So - should I drain more water out of the pool - so it is below the skimmer? I can scoop out the water in the skimmers. that makes sense. can also add some winterizer to the skimmers. good idea.

HELP!!! My pool is about to overflow

Hi - well, after some minor follies, I was able to successfully attach my sump to my hose and drain some water... my thin plastic discharge hose that I was using for my filter, ruptured when connected to the sump, and sprayed all over me in 30 degree weather. FUN... Anyway - my question - do I...

Help - before I lose my mind - Hayward DE Filter backwash port

    Pool cover for debris

thanks... I guess that's true. I don't really need to clean it... stuff will dry out over the winter and summer until I use it again for late summer (this time of year).

    Pool cover for debris

I bought the Buffalo Blizzard leaf net. I bought a pretty big size so it fits well over the pool edges. I then used some medium sized rocks to hold it in place, leaving my Polaris vac running below it picking up any small stuff that might fall below. So far looks good. not sure how I will clean...

can someone tell me if decko seal will stick to itself?

I spoke to the manufacturer and they said this would be no problem. The seal will indeed stick to the freshly cured seal from a day prior! That is good news. I will try and get it all done in one day. Glad I own a new pair of construction knee pads!

can someone tell me if decko seal will stick to itself?

Can I do 1/2 the pool and then do the other half the next day? will the news stuff stick to the cured stuff from the day earlier? I have 144 linear feet to cover, which is a lot? The old seal is out and the joint is taped over right now. I got 3 gallons in the mail today! Stuff is expensive. I...

Help - before I lose my mind - Hayward DE Filter backwash port

thanks. that looks promising, but I think my port is 2". maybe I can get a connector that will step down... I never actually have been able to get something to fit into that drain port. I thought I bought 2" plug but it was too big. i also thought I bought a 1.5" plug and that was too small...

Blowing out the water in my lines

I was asking two different topics. One is about the hose connector that fits to the compressor. The other about the water level in the line. In theory, I believe the lines just need to have sufficient water out to deal with expansion, this should not be too hard. People probably try and go...

Blowing out the water in my lines

Re: How to attach my compressor to the pump basket? I guess it's just a not fitting with a quick connect t, then put the other side of the quick connect on the hose... I'll order some fittings from Amazon and try it out ..

Blowing out the water in my lines

So I am thinking about closing my pool and doing a little research... Reading, etc... I think the concern is about water freezing, expanding and breaking the pipes - so if this is the case then most water needs to be out, but not every last drop. Some people are like drying out the pump basket...

    Replacing my Deck O Seal

Hi - a few quick questions - does anyone use the P/G primer when just redoing the seal between the coping and decking? I am going with Gray, what kind of sand, might I spread on top while it is drying? How do I keep it clean while it is drying? How do i clean the concrete before applying...
