    IntelliFlo <> EasyTouch issue

Hi Jim Thanks for the response. Config screen snapshots below. As for the equipment selection; An eclectic mix of former owners and Pool Builders. For the bits I've added (SWCG & pump) I have taken the advice of pool builder de jour .... your question makes me think that may not have been...

    IntelliFlo <> EasyTouch issue

Friends This post starts with a confession; My name's Matt. I'm an overconfident engineer and I broke my pool automation! :( We've just finished a pool remodel (old plaster to new stonescapes). We're a month in and so I've just got to the point where the cleaner is back in the pool, salt is...

Looking to upgrade basic pool control to something automated.

Thanks Both. Jim, apologies, inadvertent, late night use of the word "stuff"! :) I'm not looking for automated maintenance just automated operation. The SWCG is only 1 year old so am hoping it has some life in it. I'll take a look at the EasyTouch first.

Pump not working. What to do while it is fixed?

I ended up with about the same experience as tobydog. The kids tested, swept & added bleach every day it stayed clear (it's amazing how motivated a 9 & 10 year old can get when school's out and it's around 100F!) . I did not managed to get it covered but we did run a submersible pump 12 hours a...

Old Single Speed pump finally kicked the bucket. Upgrade to 2 speed or VS?

Just to close this out in case anyone stumbles upon this in the future and is (for some bizarre reason) curious. I managed to talk the warranty company into a 2 speed upgrade of exactly the same make of pump as I had last time. Currently it's wired as a 1 speed (High) as I don't have the...

Old Single Speed pump finally kicked the bucket. Upgrade to 2 speed or VS?

Thanks all. Warranty guy just showed and took a lot of the complexity out of this. The pump is completely toast but I get a like for like replacement with no options. I am still working on them to let me make a change. In answer to all of your questions the pool is 11 years old and I've only...

Pump not working. What to do while it is fixed?

Thanks both. Submersible pump in and running. Kids charged with sweeping & testing FC daily. Bleach going in to keep FC up. Struggling to cover it so may just be a case of more bleach!

Pump not working. What to do while it is fixed?

Hi Folks I got back from vacation last night to find out my pump bit the dust while I was away. Any advice on new pumps warmly welcomed in this thread here (#ShamelessPlug) ;) We'd been on the road for about 27 hours by the time we got home yesterday so all I did on realizing the pump was dead...

Old Single Speed pump finally kicked the bucket. Upgrade to 2 speed or VS?

Hi folks I got back from vacation yesterday to find out that my old Century A.O. Smith B855 2 HP pump motor had made its way to the big 'ole pump-motor home in the sky. Completely dead! Like many of the others who post here I have done some reading and understand that when such a...

10 Year old pool needs some work - looking for advice (pic)

Thanks again folks! Kim - in answer to your question I've been using the TF-100 for as long as I can remember. I am a 100% convertee to bleach, acid, salt, regular testing and not much else. All good on the numbers front! :) From the info above I've got some really good pointers to get me...

10 Year old pool needs some work - looking for advice (pic)

Kim, Jim, All - The yard (with pool) was one of the reasons we bought the house. Making sure I look after the pool is important to me - we love it and it gets well used. So thanks for the kind comments and thanks too for the quick response, it's exactly what I was looking for. I've been...

10 Year old pool needs some work - looking for advice (pic)

Hi TFP team. We moved into our current place about 18 months ago and inherited a 27k gal in-ground pool. We upgraded the filter and converted it to salt water. Both may have been a mistake, at least in the short term. The pool is coming up on 10 years old next summer and, as a pool rookie I...

Freezing weather in Georgia coming tonight and pump not running

Hi I'm in North Texas (DFW Area) and have a similar issue. Pool power keeps tripping and pump will not run. I can't get anyone to look at it until Monday. Found this thread and took a bit of comfort from smracing's post above. (I was freaking out this morning!) As I read the comments above...

The "Autofill" and the busted vacuum breaker

Thanks all @ zea3 - nope :( That's got the course thread on both ends. I have a few of these in my growing collection of "bits" that I have accumulated in trying to sort this out. @ n240sxguy - worth a try! I'll look out for a fine thread to hose fitting.

The "Autofill" and the busted vacuum breaker

Hi Folks I became a TFP convert on the first pool I owned. I moved away from that house 4 years ago and haven't have a pool until recently moving again. The place we have just moved into has a great pool! It's big, all be it a little older, we're enjoying it as a family and it's brought me...

    Pool temp is 187F...

Yep - I should have come back and closed this one off. It was the sensor. $40 replacement part and about 20 mins to replace. Local Pool place wanted $250 parts & labor... so I saved a buck or two on this one. Thanks for all your help and suggestions.

    Pool temp is 187F...

... OK not really, it's 74F, but that's what the equipment is reading! :? Intellitouch i5 system with an all Pentair supporting cast including MasterTemp heater. I noticed a few weeks ago that the water temp sensor would intermittently indicate the pool was boiling and thought nothing of it...

    Pump's dead - any advice?

My pump's 18months old (Pentair WhisperFlo 2HP) and it's dead. I'm no plumber but can work the electrics. My handy-dandy multimeter tells me that the pump is receiving the correct voltage but all it does is hums and occasionally clicks. It doesn't pump water. :( I'm going to get Pentair out...
