I tightened mine as tight as I could... by hand. Then just snugged it with a wrench. (Less than 1/8 turn)

I did the conversion to the Hayward fittings this spring as well, and have not had the slightest sign of a leak. When I received the fittings, each came with 2 rubber gaskets, and a fiber one. working from inside the pool to outside, the order in which I installed them was as follows... Fitting...

I posted a video here last year of me flying one of mine backwards... Under the maple tree - over the pool - between the trees on either side of the entrance to the pasture... etc. I'll see if I can find it.

As far as a SLAM is concerned, I would start by putting in enough CYA to bring you up to 30. Up your chlorine accordingly, and see if it holds where it should.

You do realize that the Intex cleaner is a pressure side cleaner? It attaches to where the pump sends water into the pool.

I see that you list well water in your signature. Did your pool start looking brown, (swampy) after you put chlorine into it? If the answer is yes, you probably have iron in your fill water.

Acids can be stored for years without any problem.

Do yourself a favor, and set up the timer to match when your pump is running, and if possible, set it up to drip above a return to avoid the possibility of bleaching one area of the pool. I actually set mine up to drip into my skimmer. It did no damage to my equipment, as the bleach to water...

My high yesterday was 90.1. My overnight low hit 85.6, so I am expecting a high today of 92 in the pool... We will see if this prediction comes true.

I run a Chlorine pool... not salt, and I found that given my location, I was better to run my CYA at 60 to help with chlorine loss due to sunlight, and heat. My Stenner doesn't have to work as long, and my bleach barrel doesn't need topping up as often.

Thank you! The spacing was determined by myself thinking about all the tree coverage directly above the deck, and the leaves, twigs and fodder that seems to be falling from them all the time. I didn't want all of that being blown INTO the pool, so I thought that a little larger spacing between...

The Ladder can be found here... Ladder. I have it set so that it ends about 1/8" above the bottom of the pool to keep water moving underneath it, but when you step on it, it rests solidly.

The hand rail will be the easy part! The hard part was figuring out how to do the stairs so they didn't look like an afterthought. And how to do them so they didn't interfere with the lawn mower!

The Wife Never mentioned that she wanted a deck... out loud. But once it was under construction, her first comments were... "Where are the steps!" Well, they are HERE! I am pretty proud of myself... first deck, and first set of stairs built from scratch... all done by yours truly!

The only problem I see with that is the water flow is being restricted under the mat. I was wondering about doing that, and decided that the fewer places for algae to start, the better.
