    Spa grout line leaking

The interesting part of this is just like you say Allen, the water is coming from the water inside the spa leaking through the tile and plaster into the concrete.. So really to fix this you would need to pull all tile inside and outside and start over using the directions and supplies from my...

    Chlorine in north Dallas

Many Many people are going salt water generator for this exact reason.. Both liquid chlorine and SWG have raised in price right along with solid chlorine.. They are all priced just about the same and after 5 years will be very close in cost.. The only problem with a SWG is the cost is all up...

    Spa grout line leaking

In this picture it is happening because the tile was not installed correctly.. In this picture it is because it was installed wrong and the water drying in those spots creating buildup.. Some muriatic acid diluted 50% in a spray bottle and a scrub brush will get most of that off but it will...

    Another ground water issue

A sump pit should work just fine but if they will not warranty the pool it will not matter... Ask them specifically why they will not put in a sump pit.. You can actually do a sump pit now and install it and see if it will get all water out.. if it does you are good to go, if not then you...

    Older Salt Water System

@1poolman1 You are all over it and I always forget that pumps can be the exact way you explained it.. I would say the best thing to do would be a brand new 2.7 VS pump for less than a new VS motor. :)

    Pump and filter upgrade

I know this will sound crazzy but it really is easy.. Cut the pump and filter out and take the PVC back to an easy place to start.. Put your new pump and filter where you want it and then start connecting it up with the best possible layout... You can move the pump and filter any place you...

    Pump and filter upgrade

If you are looking for a great deal on a pump look no further.. It only has internal automation, how long to run and speed.. CaliMar Variable Speed Pool Pump | 3HP | CMARVSP3.0 The filters are most expensive and your size pool I would recommend at least a 320 but a420 or 520 should get you a...

Been lurking, finally getting off the Trichlor sauce.....

Welcome to TFP :) I would not buy liquid chlorine from the pool store, they have it priced the same or more than solid chlorine as that is what they want you to buy...

    Older Salt Water System

If you had a 1.5 HP motor the V green 1.65 motor is a perfect fit.. To go the the 2.7 you would have to change out the pump side to the 2.7hp version... If you are going to do that just get a whole new pump... Right now it is hard to beat the price of this one. one warning, there is no way to...

    Vinyl liner UV protectant

    Spa grout line leaking

That sure looks like there was no waterproofing done behind the tile and the tile has failed... Below is how a tile install should be done and most builders have no idea how to do it nor care.. They just want it done as fast as possible.. I bet your tile was done in 1 or 2 days...

Pool installed in 1988, would you replace?

Doughboy pools from long ago were the gold standard of pools back then and now but you pay for what you get.. I doubt very much you can find any kind of replacement parts for that model.. You can call Doughboy and see.. Doughboy pools have expandable liners and can have a deep middle or side...

Light Grout- Good idea or no?

Do what you want.. If it does fade a little it will be fine.. The white will show mistakes easily and that is why they do not want to use it.. It has nothing to do with fading :)

    Amazon purchase advice

They are probably made by Pleatco or the same exact manufacture the Hayward uses.. There is nothing wrong with them at all.. If there was any kind of warranty needed with the filter it probably will not be the cart's.. Mine have been going strong for 8 years and I have 2 sets so really only 4...

    Lighting maintenance

This one is easy.. The lights are connected to a GFCI breaker and if there were anything wrong it would trip instantly... Most now are only 12 volt low voltage lights but even if they were 120V it is still GFCI protected :)

    Small SWG

The intex was the cheapest out there but they only last a couple years.. If you replaced it every 2 years it would cost the same as the expensive ones after the 3rd one but only get you about 6 years.. The more expensive ones last way longer.. There is no difference between an in ground and...
