A cool way to weatherproof your outdoor kitchen!

That is a really cool idea. I have a salt water pool and I worry about what it will do, long term, to an outdoor kitchen. This idea solves that problem. You could even install a fold out bar. Thanks for the post!

AquaPure link disappeared from Jandy AquaLink RS PDA

I have had the same issue. I think when the cell is reversing the option disappears from the remote. - - - Updated - - - Suz, it might be when it is resting. I will check mine the next time it happens. Dave

    What's your current pool temp?

We got up to 84 today. Started at 82. We have been using our solar cover which is helping. We hope to be swimming into mid November. That would be nice.

Your opinions on very small inground pool?

We vacation a lot on the Emerald Coast of Florida and we stay at places with "Cocktail Pools". I had never heard the term much less seen such a small pool. A friend has a home in Destin with such a pool in the courtyard of their vacation home. They love it. Low maintenance and a place to cool...

    Hide your pool equipment.

Looks awesome. Any chance you could head down to New Orleans and build me an outdoor bar?

SWG Experienced -> what are the pros and cons of SWG vs. non-SWG ?

The good thing about the SWCG you chose is it is way oversized for your pool volume. This means less run time to generate the chlorine needed to sanitize your water. This should extend your cell life considerably. I believe keeping your water balanced year round goes a long way in keeping a SWCG...

Close pool or keep open during winter in Florids

As Duraleigh stated you should not close it during the winter. We keep ours open year round. Our pool is very visible from our house and is like a second living space. I would hate to be looking at a green pool during the off season. Your chemical use should go way down. We have a SWCG and in...

    Is your pool equipment covered?

Ok, I must be crazy. The wife and I just went through the pump owners manual and we cannot find it. There is a statement that states "Do not install within an outdoor enclosure or beneath the skirt of a hot tub" which we both remember seeing but we cant find anything about sheltering the pump motor.

    Is your pool equipment covered?

Thanks for the responses. I should note that it was the pump owners manual that stated this. I am going to go check the SWCG manual to see what it says. I doubt the filter would be included due to clearance issues.

    Is your pool equipment covered?

I had to read my owners manual due to a "no flow" error on my Jandy Aquapure when I noticed it stated that the equipment had to be covered (sheltered) or it would void the warranty. My builder put the pad on the side of the house but never mentioned this. I was curious as to how many people have...

    Heat pump versus gas heater

Jblizzle hit the nail on the head. A heat pump will not heat up the spa fast enough for you to use it. I wanted a heat pump but at a cost of around $4000 I decided against it. From what I understand a heat pump can only heat a certain number of degrees above the ambient temperature and cool only...

    Price Gouging?

That looks very reasonable to me. Our build three years ago for a 14x30 play pool with no heat pump or cover was $42,000. Dont forget to budget money for yard repair. We spent an additional $3,500 on regrading the yard and sod replacement. - - - Updated - - - One more thng you may want to...

Sold house with a pool, bought another house...with a pool

As Agent 99 stated, that pool is really close to the house especially with the back door that close to it. Our offset was 15 feet from the house. Keep the pics coming. Cant wait to see how it turns out.

    LED Pool Lights

My wife and I argued endlessly over regular lights and the Jandy Watercolor LED's. I argued that since we were building the pool we should do it right and do it the way we wanted. She balked at the cost but finally aquiesced. My wife is stubborn but she now admits it would have been a huge...

Teal vacation pool safe to swim?

A clear glass of water tells you nothing about the chemistry of the pool or what is growing in the water. I would ask if they could provide test results from the last several tests including time and date they were sampled. Post the results here if available and people can give you advice if it...

Teal vacation pool safe to swim?

Welcome to the forum. I would not swim in it. After learning about pool care I will never swim in a pool that I have not personally tested, especially with strangers swimming in the same pool. You can take water that looks clear in a glass and when you fill a pool with it suddenly it does not...

    Flood light projectors

You are correct, that is not a gobo. That looks like some type of specialized landscape lighting. That is a cool effect with the shell look.

    Flood light projectors

Do a search for DJ lighting. I have seen this type of lighting used in clubs and events. I saw one light that used a laser to project images. You could actually program it to "draw" anything on a walll Edited to add; Check this one out. Chauvet DJ EZ Gobo Projector Bundle | IDJNOW

May be starting build this year!! Outside of Boston

Your pool is slightly smaller than mine which is 14 x 30 ft. And I have two Jandy Watercolor lights. I still have some dark areas. One thing you need to consider is the placement of the pool in relation to your house. Our pool is mostly rectangular so our builder suggested putting the lights in...

    TFPC pool care service?

I have thought of this often. Why not get seven refillable jugs for each customer and prefill them with the amount of bleach needed for each day between visits. All the customer has to do is pour in a premeasured dose of chlorine each day. Make it idiot proof for the customer. Test once a week...

Small pool and hot tub in SE Louisiana

Welcome to the forum fellow Louisianan. My brother is also in Metairie. I am going to forward this post for him to follow because he now wants to do his own pool. Keep...

Pool Water Level with Hayward Auto Skimmer?

Your water level is going to be about 11" below the top of the form if the top of the form is actually the top of the deck. My coping is about 1-1/2 inches thick so my water level is about 5 inches below the deck level. That sure does not look correct but I am not a pool builder. Any chance you...

Recommended CL level for removing organic stains

Recommended CL level for removing organic stains

I had some tree work done today. One of the trees they cut was a diseased Bradford Pear and the top landed on the corner of the pool dropping what looks like seed pods and leaves in the water. They failed to tell me when it happened. About three hours later I scooped it out but it left a lot of...
