Two pumps running in same plumbing

The pumps are both plumbed to the same suction and return lines. We use a three way valve to isolate one pump from the system while the other is running. The application is not unique or special. I can take a picture a little later to show the set up. 18000 IG, SWG, 1/2 HP Tri Star +...

    High Phosphate reading...

High phosphate reading from pool store...279. I want an independent, but this is a local pool store, and their readings are reasonably trustworthy - I have compared their FC, CYA readings etc, with my own test results and they are typically in line with mine - so I have no reason to believe...

Robots and Wrinkles in my Vinyl Liner. Compatible?

Is this a no no? We got wrinkles in the liner this year - mentally I am already at a place where I doubt I can get them out. Who knows - maybe if the water table rises as high as it did this year, next year, then perhaps I will work on them....but...for this season, I will live with them...

Alternative approach to deep cleaning sand filter

So everything I do is per instructions, but instead of letting the water spill over the top of the filter, I bring the water to the brim of the stand pipe, and then shop vac the water out. I repeated this three times. The reason is the sand filter is inside out shed... Is three times enough...

    Sand filter questions

Hi all I read on a few websites that sand should be replaced every five to seven years...because the sand edges get worn down and won't trap solids and particulates as well. I don't think that passes the sniff teat, but wanted some thoughts from this group. Another question I have is about...

Vinyl Liner with water under it ...

I experienced the same thing this year. We waited for water table to go down, and simultaneously started filling pool (we drained it below jets for winter). In spring liner was floating in shallow end, but has now gone back to normal, but has left two large wrinkles... so hopefully...

What to do with antifreeze in the filter?

I use my wet dry vac to remove as much as possible. Then vacuum to waste for first opening. I saw one post here where the person suggested opening one jet at a time, and directing return water with a hose outside the pool! 18000 IG, SWG, 1/2 HP Tri Star + Solar PV direct DC Lorentz pump...

    Opened to wrinkles in liner

Any thoughts on how to fix wrinkles? One source said drain pool, another said partial drain and use a toilet plunger...a third source said to pump water to other side of pool, and float liner..that seems ludicrous to me, and could cause more damage. I am not sure where to start, but I really...

    Dealing with a wrinkled liner

So the good news is the liner has pretty much gone back to normal - we are filling the pool slowly, groundwater is receding and liner is back in place - we have one wrinkle on the bottom on the shallow end. The catch 22 is to get liner back into place, we need to raise pool water back to pre...

Opening pool - add water first?

Pool was pumped down, but not emptied. PB suggests filling pool to as high as possible. He suggested that if we pump groundwater from sides too fast, it could cause more wrinkles vs letting it naturally settle back down as groundwater runs off. His suggestion was fill the pool as high as...

Opening pool - add water first?

Thanks Patrick. The only suggestion was to wait, which I am tempted to do, while also filling pool to just below skimmer. I assume I should not get plumbing going until the liner is back to normal as well, primarily because I can't clean pool properly with liner floating! 18000 IG, SWG...

Opening pool - add water first?

Sorry - added signature now. I posted separately about liner - it is likely due to high water table, according to PB. Pool is 18K gallon IG vinyl, that was winterized (glycol, drained, etc). Cheers Tom 18000 IG, SWG, 1/2 HP Tri Star + Solar PV direct DC Lorentz pump, Sand filtrt

Opening pool - add water first?

Hi all As the title says...liner is floating throughout pool. Shallow end, down the sides, and possibly the bottom of the deep end, but I have not yet peeled the winter tarp completely off yet. We have had a whack of precip this winter and spring, and I have pumped off the tarp water into a...

Opening pool - add water first?

Pool still froze, but water level on tarp exceedingly high

Update. I cracked a big enough piece of ice off the winter tarp, making enough room for my pump to do its thing. By morning there should just be one big block of ice on the tarp, ready for our 1.5 inches of rain on its way tomorrow! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Pool still froze, but water level on tarp exceedingly high

Well that is how much rain we are getting. On the tarp, there is closer to 2 feet of ice...frozen solid.... I can't siphon because the delta on elevation is not significant enough... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
