Wife is putting liquid pool cover in pool

Should I be worried? Can we still swim in it? What the world is that stuff anyway??? 18000 IG, SWG, 1/2 HP Tri Star + Solar PV direct DC Lorentz pump, Sand filtrt

Solar Blanket Without Reel Tips and Tricks?

We have an 18 x 36 kidney with an extra bump. Our SOP is to pull the cover onto the pool deck and fold like an accordion. This allows us to simply pull the cover back over the pool surface and unfold itself as we pull. Absent a roller, this seems to be the thing that works best for us...

Probably in skimmer for 6 hours...max. FC - 8 Cc - 0 pH - 7.8 CYA - 60 Dumped a jug of chlorine in pool, turned SWG onto super chlorinate and fired up bot... How long before we can swim again? Have a bunch of boys coming over today for a swim...bloody murphy's law strikes again... 18000...

Anyone figure out a good option for lighting an inground vinyl pool?

Floating solar LED lights may be a cheap fix, if you want to avoid wiring DC lights into an already built pool! 18000 IG, SWG, 1/2 HP Tri Star + Solar PV direct DC Lorentz pump, Sand filtrt

    Pool Draining Following a Rainstorm

Yes. I have had to drain down the pool about five times so far this summer...so much so that my CYA fell to below 30 (bumped back up to 55), and my salt generator flagged low salt and I had to add another bag! (First time I have ever had to do that). I have been draining to get the water...

    Solar blanket - questions

One way to deal with dirt etc on the cover is to push it all towards the skimmer with a brush. That way at least it is captured in the skimmer/filter rather than falling into the pool. 18000 IG, SWG, 1/2 HP Tri Star + Solar PV direct DC Lorentz pump, Sand filtrt

    Solar blanket - questions

1 - mostly used to retain heat; 2 - reduces evaporation; 3 - reduces erosion of fc from sun, but may cause slight increase in cc 18000 IG, SWG, 1/2 HP Tri Star + Solar PV direct DC Lorentz pump, Sand filtrt

How do you reduce your electric bill?

What do you mean "going solar"? You cannot run an AC pump directly from solar panels. To do that, you would require batteries and an inverter. Batteries, inverter (you would need one that powers 220V appliances) and solar panels would run you at least 5K, if not more...I would assume...

    Anybody familiar with Polaris Robots?

I have P945 and couldn't be happier with it. Don't need the fancy app. I have never owned a dolphin so can't comment on those. Have had no tangles, or any other issues; picks up sand, bugs, worms, the odd leaf.... Just love it! 18000 IG, SWG, 1/2 HP Tri Star + Solar PV direct DC Lorentz...

Best Robotic Cleaner AND Best Robotic Cleaner for the Money

We purchased the polaris P945, and are very happy with it. It isn't a "smart bot", but is 4 wheel drive and top mounted filter basket. I like how it empties water when I pull it out. Cord is nice and long. I don't need to control it with an app - that is 300 bucks I would rather have in...

PB is adamant phosphates need dealing with

PB is adamant phosphates need dealing with

But I am going to slowly bump my cya. Have had problems maintaining it due the huge amount of rain we have been getting and the need to constantly waste water to get level below skimmer. First time I have ever had to add salt in July too!!! 18000 IG, SWG, 1/2 HP Tri Star + Solar PV...

PB is adamant phosphates need dealing with

So yes PB sells chems, but they have NEVER pushed any on me - i am amazed at PB willingness to offer advice without trying to make a sale. It is not a new build. PB generally backs off when I say that all I ever add is bleach (when SWG is not functioning due to temp), muriatic acid and baking...

PB is adamant phosphates need dealing with

Measured 500 ppb...fc is 9, cya is 50...cc is 0; pH is 7.8. I see no problem here...thoughts? Are my phosphates an issue? My fc may be a wee bit high...pool is clear, sparkly and kept ultra clean by my new polaris bot that i LOVE!!! 18000 IG, SWG, 1/2 HP Tri Star + Solar PV direct DC...

Best cleaner for large bamboo leaves??

I just picked up the polaris P945 and LOVE it. I think the biggest thing to remember is that robots keep clean pools clean - they are not intended to clean a dirty pool filled with algae, leaves, etc. I drop mine in daily for 90 mins. If I miss a day, i use 2.5 hr setting... 18000 IG...
