IC-40 salt reading Not Matching TF-Pro test kit

I just did yet another K-1766 test and my results are 3,600 ppm. My IC40 is reading 2,650 which means it's already reduced its chlorine output and if the reading drops under 2,600 then it will produce no chlorine. I should have known that Pentair would try to blame something in the pool store...

IC-40 salt reading Not Matching TF-Pro test kit

I just got a reply from Pentair Support after sending them my test results from Leslie's. I also asked them if these could be recalibrated. Here is their reply:

IC-40 salt reading Not Matching TF-Pro test kit

Wow that’s a feature I wasn’t aware of. Thanks! I just did this and the 80% light illuminated. IntelliCenter is showing 82 degrees so it looks like the IC40 is at least reading the correct temperature.

IC-40 salt reading Not Matching TF-Pro test kit

My wife agrees with your statement and thinks the K-1766 tests may be off. Re-reading how you perform your K-1766 tests, it sounds like we are doing the test nearly the same way. What I can't explain is why the IC40 changed from reading too high to too low simply by cleaning the pump basket...

IC-40 salt reading Not Matching TF-Pro test kit

I've been having the same issues with a brand new IC40. When our pool was first finished in May, the reading from the IC40 was in the 4,500-4,700 which had us concerned about salt levels too high so we actually drained a little bit of water and filled it back with new water. We then tested...

    Betta SE Plus

Okay you all convinced me to pull the trigger on the SE Plus. It should arrive on Sunday. Can't wait to give it a try! My wife actually sent me a link to the Amazon listing a few days ago and I told her I needed to check with the experts on TFP before making a decision. :)

    Betta SE Plus

I'm really tempted to pickup the SE Plus to give it a try. Our skimmers alone work fairly well but when we get closer to the fall I worry about trying to keep up with all of the leaves falling. My only concern is that this won't work well while the pump is running and that it will get stuck in...

How many lights for this pool design

We have the MicroBrite multi-color lights in our new pool. We have a full bench on one side and two lights are just under the bench (facing away from the bench) and we have one at the top step aimed away from our house. The only downside with the multi-color is they are not dimmable and you...

New Pool Build - Testing for the first time

So I believe we have been able to get most of our numbers within the ideal ranges. We test regularly with our TF-Pro kit and we have been adding acid more frequently to keep the pH within range. What is frustrating is our Pentair IC40 keeps alerting me that our salt level is low. In...

    Water Slowly Dripping from Scupper

The PB sent his crew of plumbers today and they replaced the entire manifold. Now we have all new Jandy valves. Fingers crossed that this fixes it! If not, then I’m completely stumped.

    Water Slowly Dripping from Scupper

I actually did that last week and even provided pictures. They basically replied and told me to stop trying to fix it myself or I could void the warranty and provided a list of local companies I could call. So they were of no real help. I will reply to that last email and see if they will at...

    Water Slowly Dripping from Scupper

Thank you for your input. Both times after opening up the valve assembly and then manually closing it the scupper stayed dry for several days. My theory was that it was either because I had manually closed the valve or it was because the plumbing was depressurized so it took a while for the...

    Water Slowly Dripping from Scupper

I got in touch with the builder today and they are willing to replace the entire valve. However, I've been trying to find others who may have had a similar problem and came across this thread: Jandy Valve Still Leaking after replacing O-rings A few people in that thread have said that it may...

    Help understanding permit requirements

I’m surprised that your PB isn’t handling all of the permitting for you. I’ve heard getting pool permits in Alpharetta can be a challenge. We are in Cobb where it’s a little easier but I’m glad we didn’t have to do it ourselves since we had many challenges including a flood zone, impervious...

Travertine of flagstone coping with a rock waterfall?

I guess it depends on how much time you think people will be sitting on the coping when using the pool. We have travertine coping and decking and we have been pleasantly surprised at how cool it has stayed in these hotter than normal days. We also had a flagstone walkway installed next to our...

Pool Coping - size/lenght number of pieces

I would say there are other factors that will influence where the coping is cut. When our travertine coping was first installed, they did pretty much what you stated where they just put whole pieces all in a row and cut the corners. However, that resulted in having a seam on top of each of the...

    Pentair Warranty Support

We have a new pool with all Pentair equipment. The salt level values being calculated by the IC40 IntelliChlor have been all over the place. When the IC40 was first powered on, the salt levels were showing really high in IntelliCenter (4,700-4,800) so we tested with our TF-Pro Salt test kit...

    Water Slowly Dripping from Scupper

Those are the only cheap ball valves I have. Everything else is Jandy. Not sure why they went cheap on those but not surprised either. Since replacing the housing will require a lot more work, how does a pool plumber typically tackle this? I assume they have to cut out the old valve and then...

    Water Slowly Dripping from Scupper

Today I opened the Jandy valve up again to swap out the internal parts hoping to fix this issue. However, when I look at the old internal diverter assembly I really don’t see anything wrong when comparing it to the new one. So I turned my focus to the valve housing instead. There isn’t anything...

    Water Slowly Dripping from Scupper

I found the whole valve on Amazon for close to the same price with Prime shipping so it was already delivered and appears to be genuine OEM. I’ll swap out the internals this weekend. Another question regarding these Jandy valves. I see in the install guide that you are supposed to position the...

    Water Slowly Dripping from Scupper

I hear you but if you search for my other thread on pool equipment you'll see why I don't want them coming back to touch anything unless it's something I can't do myself. Trust me I'm very very angry about the whole situation but trying to just fix whatever I can and move on. The last time the...

    Water Slowly Dripping from Scupper

Thank you! I may buy the whole valve just to get the handle. I wish the builder had left the handles so I could adjust them manually should the IntelliValves ever fail.

    Water Slowly Dripping from Scupper

Well it looks like I spoke too soon. I came home from work today and found the scupper dripping again. I'm going to order the repair kit next. I hate spending my own money on this but I don't trust the builder to do it correctly. The correct part number is 4720 since my 3-way diverter is...

    Equipment for New Build

I found this video that shows you how to convert it the other way - Natural Gas to Propane. So now I have to figure out if they swapped out the correct part for Natural Gas? I thought I was done dealing with this moron of an installer... Ugh  I believe this is the correct part number...
