South Florida Pool & Outdoor Living - STARTUP PHASE

Our pool and shelf came in around 114 linear feet (34x17 plus 11x7 shelf). Without the spa, heater, and travertine patio (2200 square feet of it) we we're around $40-$45k. That included upsized equipment (IC60, 420 filter, vs pump, etc.), 3 led lights, and automation which I strongly suggest you...

South Florida Pool & Outdoor Living - STARTUP PHASE Just dropping in for an update. We ended up getting the pool replastered. As the last few of my posts indicated, calcium scaling started to form so it was one more thing that leaned us to do it. I hated the idea of being without a pool...

    New build in Atlanta GA

Wow. Looks beautiful. But sorry about your drainage. Your slope is a monster. What is the plan to address? I wonder if you could do drains around the edge of the decking? Also be sure your mulch you're using as a barrier isn't dyed. The last thing you want is dye running into your brand new...

    New Build - Central California

Ha! For a second I thought that was the framing for the pool! Jeesh. Then I realized it was for your structure. It's a real headache having multiple projects going on at the same time, that need to tie together. But now that we are done it was so worth the pain only once. Sent from my iPhone...

    New Build - Frisco, TX

Thanks, D! Some installers use wet edge here but it's few and far between. The product isn't manufactured here so it's more expensive to deliver. We have Diamond Brite, Florida Gem, Qaurtzscape, and Premix Marbletite manufacturing and distributing centers within 10 miles of our home so those...

    Spillover trickle

It was a combination of two things. Water flow/pressure and I had a nick in one of the joints where the spillover coping meets. Since it's nearly 5' it is made up of 3 pieces joined with grout. Once I got the filter clean and flow adjusted it would spillover about 1 out of every 3 times it...

Ryan, just coming across your thread now. Love it so far. Do you have any design pics of the covered patio you are building? It's almost exactly the same size as ours (40x16). Your space planning also looks similar to ours. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Your build: What would you do differently?

FWIW, it's a preference thing. We have an attached spa and use in 3+ days a week. Certainly it's not as comfortable as most attached spa seats are not contoured, and spa jets are usually limited (up to 12). But we build ours with triple jet seats to get more of a standalone pressure experience...

South Florida Pool & Outdoor Living - STARTUP PHASE

That's great. I love blue surf. But our kids have really sensitive skin on their feet. And even the sheen with rough them up bad. If we're still around when it's time to refinish our pool 10+ years from now, that's my pick. Or our next build, which naturally will be so easy ;) Sent from my...

Very nice. In hindsight I wish we did a blue waterline. You are using the glass tile for step markers? I would have never thought they looked like that under water from the dry pic. And what finish brand/color are you doing? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
