Jimbo, what kind of camera did you use for the time lapse videos? I think that is an awesome idea! :goodjob:

Hey gumby, check out this post for more info! 3-14-time-lapse-video-steel-new-pool-build-phoenix-t54925.html#p461875 I included some links to the items I used. We also ran an extension cord since the phone would've eventually run out of juice (ran it for the whole day a couple of times).

Ah my bad, i see you answered my earlier post with the same question...I dont have an iphone, but i just ordered a Brinno Tf100 time lapse camera for $119. Im going to do the same thing for my build, great idea and i think it definitely helps newbies like me understand the PB process. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos!

Jimbo, who did your steel and shotcrete? Im still looking for a reasonably priced subcontractor.

Actually, I have no idea! Presidential Pools is building our pool and we haven't bothered to ask who the contractors are.

On second thought, I just checked our pictures and it looks like shotcrete was done by American Shotcrete Construction Inc. (we got a picture of their truck). Still not sure about steel though.

Re: *3/25 Time lapse video SHOTCRETE* New Pool Build - Phoen

The shotscrete is the best video yet. I tried to do the time lapse video for mine, but my iphone is also my work phone and I kept getting calls, plus I hane no real god spot to set it up.

Thanks! I use Google Voice so I just routed my work calls to the home phone and I put the phone in airplane mode AND "do not disturb" so the notifications didn't pop up. Luckily we have a balcony and I was able to get it all set up (with power) in a decent spot.

Just got off the phone with American, I had actually sent them a request for an estimate a couple weeks ago but they never got back to me. They are on top of it now...Thanks J!!!

your tanning ledge looks deep.

We made it the 2nd step depth. Not so deep that we can't put chairs on it but deep enough for our little guy to play on.

looking good man! We did the same with our ledge. I think they might need to rename them to soaking ledges out here in az.

We made our ledge 7x12 feet with 9" of water and a bubbler in the middle. It is one of my favorite parts of the pool and little kids love it too. It has not been hot enough to want to soak in it yet - just wade about.

Re: *3/25 Time lapse video SHOTCRETE* New Pool Build - Phoen

Since ours is the second step it'll be about 18" below the water line. We're also having a couple of telescoping fountains installed for use when we're not actually in the pool.

JimboAZ, I thought that was Maricopa from your photos :) - we just had Presidential finish our pool in the Villages a few weeks ago - really happy with the outcome!

Cool, that's good to hear! We're in The Villages also. We've had a few minor issues but other than that things are running smoothly.

In other news, no big updates lately. They should be putting in the decking pretty soon so we're looking forward to that!
