So after starting the pool a couple days later the water got cloudy and I noticed the pump wasn't running and the chlorinator had no lights. I wiggled the cord from the chlorinator to the box and the lights came on. A little after that the pump started running. Well, I noticed yesterday that the water was getting cloudy and couldn't see the jets putting out water. Sure enough the pump wasn't working and no power to the chlorinator.

Can I put the system into service mode to keep the pump running until I can fix the bad connection to the chlorinator? I would assume that since it looses power that tells the system no flow and to stop the pump.

Were going out of town tomorrow so I have no to to deal with this now. Just need the pump running to keep things clean till we return.

Thanks

What model chlorinator and controls are we discussing?

Show us pictures of the equipment you are discussing.

The pump and EasyTouch does not know the chlorinator shut off.

The pump stopped for its own reasons and caused the NO FLOW.

So the system (Easytouch) does not get its flow readings from the chlorinator? Ok and IF the chlorinator is not working that will not cause the Easytouch to tell the pump to stop? Good to know

Any suggestions?

05,

Does your SWCG plug into the bottom of the EasyTouch, or does the SWCG plug into a little external Power Center box??

If the cell plugs into the EasyTouch, then you need to look at the pins on both side of that connector.. We have seen several cases where the pins in the connector have over-heated and burned or corroded away..

Thanks,

Jim R.

Until you fix that connection you had better test chlorine levels and add LC before leaving and depending how long you out, have a neighbor add chlorine for you before a swamp develops.

The chlorinator plugs in from the bottom on the left side. It is that one that if I move/push up that then makes connection and the power comes back on to the chlorinator.

Finishing up some work and then opening the panel. I did try unscrewing that connection but it didn't want to just pull out. Does it need to twist as well?

05,

We have seen cases where that connector basically melts due to overheating.. :(

The connector "nut" unscrews and the connector should just pull apart..

Check from the top side and see if you can see any obvious damage.

Thanks,

Jim R.

05,

The connector in your pic appears to be the one going to the cell????

If so, that is not the cable in your link.. The cable in the link goes between the bottom of the EasyTouch up to the Surge card (Power Supply) that is mounted to the back wall behind your front panel..

Thanks,

Jim R.
