Apologies if my question has been asked but I did my best to search before asking.
So I have a Dolphin s300. It's probably 4 years old or so.
Current problem:
I start a cleaning cycle either on the control unit or on the app on my phone and it runs for about 10 seconds and stops, then the blue light on the controller turns into a red ring. I can press the button again and it will go blue again and run 10 seconds again and back to red.
The unit itself has all new wheels, gears, brushes, bushings and even a new big blue swivel cable.
The only things that I haven't replaced are the two big ticket items. The drive motor and power supply. The drive motor I actually replaced a year ago. Water leaked into the unit and ruined it. The power supply was replaced under warranty a couple of years ago by Maytronics.
So it's either the motor or the power supply right? Everything else is pretty much new right now. Even the tracks. My question is, how do I figure out which it is?
I've run the Dolphin with nothing hooked up to the tracks and it still behaves exactly the same so I know it has nothing to do with the drive train besides the fact that I've replaced all the parts with new.
Hoping someone has experience with this issue.
Thank you in advance.

It is failing its self test for some reason.
You can check that you’re getting the correct voltage from the power supply , then the cable and also be sure the impeller isn’t clogged with hair or something wrapped around it.

Frank,

Have you removed the impeller and checked to make sure there is nothing wrapped around the motor shaft?

If so, then most likely the motor box is full of water, or the brushes in one of the motors has worn out..

I have moved on from the Dolphins, and now use the EVO, which I like much better.. that said, I have no clue yet how long it will last...

Sorry for your loss,

My active 30 was doing this same thing. I pulled it out and set it on a couple of 2x4 blocks and ran through the start sequence. It was then that I realized that the tracks were coming off the wheels and causing binding. I know you have replaced most everything, if not everything but have you ran it out of the water to see what might be causing the failure?

Since season #3, I do crack open the drive motor housing every year and clean and relubricate the o-ring to check for water ingress. Started season 5 with it this year. I replaced the rear brush and bushings, front wheels and bushings, and tracks this year. Hopefully I can get another 4 seasons out of it before having to do that again. Maybe by the time I have to replace it the cordless ones will be well tested and have all the bugs worked out.

Pretty much every wear part is new. The cable is a brand new swivel cable. When I first opened it up I did find a bit of hair on the impeller but not much. Removed it and retested with no difference unfortunately.

Yep, checked the impeller. All that is good. I am reluctant to believe the motor is full of water again as was the original a couple of years ago but it is seeming like that is likely the issue. I just have a hard time believing the replacement failed so soon. Wondering what I can do to make one last longer. I am hesitant to change cleaners as I am all too familiar with the inner workings of this contraption and have a good amount of spare parts for them. If I was buying another new one it would be the same model I am thinking to keep the same interchangeability of the parts I have. I just worry that the power supply might be the issue too.

You can check If you’re getting the proper voltage from the power supply with the cable removed - should be around 29-30v
Or you can borrow a working power supply to test your theory.
When my dolphin bit the dust after a few years of dutiful daily service I purchased a slightly used similar model (same model different name) off fb marketplace and now have many spare parts.
