ScreenLogic - Remote - Random data

ScreenLogic local works just fine but while at home when I test remote I’m getting some type of random demo information.

When I’m off Wi-Fi it won’t connect at all.

I also use the SLConfig App for configuration on the iPhone which won’t connect to Remote at all, shows “Error: Gateway not found” (Local is fine here as well)

Appreciate any assistance!

On my phone, I see two systems.. A Demo system and my system...

Not sure if that is what you mean by demo info..

Also, ScreenLogic, stores old info and if for some reason it does not get updated, it will just show you the old data..

When I select "Local", my phone just shows a connect button.. When I select "Remote" I have to select if I want the demo server or my Protocol adapter.. It shows the address for my Protocol Adapter "Pentair:FC-XX-XX

My system has just always worked, so I have no experience with it not working...

I use my PC 99% of the time, I really only use my phone when trying to answer questions here at TFP.

Hi Jim, it’s pool opening season and I have this issue still.

For the remote option I am choosing my Pentair adapter but still the data I see is completely random compared to local setup which is accurate.

Is the Remote option a device I have to pay for or call to activate? Have had our pool for 5 years now and have never been able to use the Remote option. Only works on Local while at home (Wifi).

One other thing to note, for Remote I even put a random password and it connects and loads all this random information.

It sounds like your EasyTouch panel is not correctly logged into the Pentair server.

For remote operations the system goes through the cloud and Pentair servers. No payment required but the panel needs to be logged into the server.

Almost all of my posts are from my personal experience... This means that if I have not had any experience with a problem, I am basically dumb as a rock... :mrgreen:

I agree with Allen that to use the remote option, the system has to talk with something that can remotely find your Protocol Adapter.. I also assume this is a Pentair Server, but if it is, there is nothing obvious about it when setting up ScreenLogic.. With the new IntelliCenter, it is very obvious that you are talking with Pentair as part of logging on.

Just to be clear... When you are trying to use the remote access, your Wi-Fi is off and you are using your cell phone's connection.

I upgraded to the new IntelliCenter and no longer have my ScreenLogic system, so I can't experiment to see what the screens look like now... :(

But it seems to me that it would either work correctly or it would error out.. It was obvious when it did not connect.. Maybe it is connected to someone else's system???

The only thing I can suggest is that you deleted the app and then reload the app and start over and see what happens.

I had ScreenLogic for about 10 or 12 years and it never had an issue.. I gave it to one of our members and I'm told it is still working fine.
