Is it safe to test water indoor with Taylor 2006C?

Hi all, I am a new pool owner and have been following this site as I learn to get my newly opened pool clear. I've ordered myself a Taylor 2006C and am currently SLAMing the pool and testing throughout the day. Is it safe to do the various Taylor tests inside my house (FAS-DPD, the PH tests, CYA tests, etc.)? Or should I do them in my backyard outdoors?

I am a huge fan of indoor testing. Virtually everything about it is better.

Welcome to TFP.

Testing indoors is fine. I take sample water in a few vials inside and then run through the tests.

I do my pH test at the pool since my pool often needs some acid. I can get a reading, add acid if necessary, and take my water samples inside to run the rest of the tests.

Good consistent lighting is helpful indoors to see the colors and changes.

Reading the dot in the CYA tube is best done outdoors with the sun at your back. So I take the tube and squirt bottle outside to read the value.

I have read in a couple of places and also had a discussion with our local hazardous waste folks. They say test chemicals are on par in toxicity with home cleaning products. So treat them the same: keep away from food prep, young kids, etc. But otherwise fine to use indoors.
