Looking for some advice on a pool cover.

Bought my house a few years ago. Have a 1 month old now and need either a gate or a cover.

We don’t use it that often, and the constant filling of water and MA makes me think a solid/mesh cover may be the best option. That would reduce my evaporation and thus keep my TA down (phoenix city water is 120 TA).

I’ve never messed with a solid cover but would anyone strongly recommend against this? Anyone have recs on brands?

How often do you use the pool? A mesh cover is a lot of work to get on and off. They are typically used for winterization purposes.

There are really good temporary pool fences. Search google for "Temporary Pool Fence"

Not too often. I imagine us utilizing it more when the kid/s can swim but then we won’t need the cover. I’d see us needing this for 3-5 years.

After that the deck/tile/plaster will be re-done anyway most likely so don’t mind drilling into the decking.

You live in Phoenix. Daytime summer temperatures of 110 degF plus. I would not advise putting a solid safety cover over the pool and just leaving it without maintenance. Water temperatures will be in the low 100's. Your scaling tendency (CSI) will skyrocket.

Best to drain it and keep it dry and refurb it later. Might consider a drain and then cover.
