Skimmer crack? Support ring loose

Last fall when I closed my pool, after lowering the water level, I noticed that the ring that supports the skimmer basket was loose. Looking around it's edges, it appears the ring is starting to separate from the main body. Should any action be taken before raising the water level. I spent some time studying the ring and see that it appears to just sit in place, and possibly manufactured separate from the skimmer. Should I epoxy / Schmear? It appears like the skimmer body is intact and watertight. The ring is still attached in some areas, so was thinking an in place repair would be best as not to make the problem any worse (I.E. I don't want to break it fully loose). It would be hard to fully work in the fill between the two surfaces. I'm not real familiar with these, so would appreciate any thoughts from the community. Thanks in advance.

Maybe use Plast-Aid to secure it in place.

I hear it from reliable sources that Plast-Aid is the best.

:goodjob:
Nope, I would not Plast-aid that.

It will mess up replacing it when it breaks.

There is a right product for the right problem.

Thanks for the responses! Here are the requested pictures of the lid and basket. I bought the house with pool a few years ago, and this is what came with it. The color of the basket looks like it might have been replaced recently. The lid looks old and original.

So is the consensus is that it just snaps into place? Mine is not moveable on one end, yet it wiggles on the other. From what I'm gathering, I should just leave it alone so that it can be replaced in the future if needed.

My pool was built ~1999, so not sure if that helps narrow down the Hayward skimmer I have. Is the model stamped somewhere on the body?

The writing inside the cover gives enough clues as to the model...

@ajw22 has it right, that is the same model skimmer I have. The numbers on the lid are correct.
