Aiper Scuba S1 Review

Not sure why shade matters. I charge next to the grill on my back porch. I pull it out each run and let it sit on the covered porch. Unless you're talking their solar skimmer, then shade matters if it's not cord chargeable (I have Betta cord and no cord). I charge my Betta2 in the sun while SE Plus is running.

The little card that came in the packaging said don’t charge in the sun. I imagine the heat

It's solar, if it doesn't have a charger there's no other way. I've been charging in the sun for 2 years without issues. My pool is 75% shade (100% until about noon). It goes a full 14 hours, the one with the charger goes 48 hours.

Where do you guys charge your Aipers? I been doing it in the equipment pad area and fortunately it’s pretty shaded with all the trees/shed.

Also do you store yours inside or just keep it with the other equipment when not in use?

Prob thinking into this way too much but with reading stories about these Aiper going up in flames inside homes it made me think twice
I keep mine on the patio next to the outdoor receptacle where the charger plugs in. It's 10' from the edge so charger doesn't get wet and is in the shade all day. To facilitate draining of the water in the charging port I have a 3' piece of 3/4" pipe and I set the other end on the pipe.

Question. I updated the firmware on mine when I first got it. Late in the season last year it began to sit in the pool for a few hours before doing anything. I was going to try and factory reset it or try to update the firmware. The app has sense been updated and now it only lists a scuba S1 2025. The app now seems to not let me join the WiFi network my S1 is providing. It looks like the app wants to join Scuba S1 2025 XXXXX which is not what my S1s hotspot is. How do I fix this? It’s a minor annoyance, because it eventually works, but it wants to drain the battery down for an hour before it starts to run.

Any ideas on how to prevent debris from falling out of the bot when removing it from the pool?

I've tried slowly picking it up and also turning it horizontal and then lifting it out of the water, but still get some junk falling back into the pool. I don't think it's coming out of the bottom door of the filter basket. I do see debris outside of the basket around the top rim when I open the top though. Like somehow debris is getting out of the basket but the basket top appears to be closed/tight.

I'm liking the cleaning abilities of the bot so far but just wish it didn't poop in the pool when I take it out 😁.

Anyone else out there experience this and if so, any solutions?

OK my test results are in. Liberally apply silicone lube to plug fitting works great. Completely dry today. If it's not dry blow it out with your mouth. That works fine too. Yellow blinking charge light. No red light.
I also just blow mine off each time - I keep a can of dielectric grease spray - just a quick spray on both the S1 and the charger once every few weeks - seems to keep the connectors from corrosion. Silicone lube probably works better? spray easier to apply. All good - just to slow the pool water from starting the inevitable corrosion. Once it starts, it's just a matter of time...

So I’ve used mine twice this week with the amount of pollen and debris falling from the trees. I’m very impressed and this thing seems to really clean all corners of our pool perfectly. Walls, floors, tanning ledge, even attempts to do the stairs

I see what everyone is referencing with the water in the charging port. I’m guessing the silicone lube on the grooves every single session in the pool is the way to go?
