I cleaned the filter this weekend. I removed the drain plug and popped the top and did my usually clean.
Got everything together and it was running great. I always go back about 30 minutes later to make sure the belly band on the filter is not leaking because it’s hard to tell after letting the top valve purge the air until it turns water before I shut it off.
Went back to check and all was good on the belly band but my plug was leaking. A pin stream. I reached down to hand tighten and the face snapped off and water began to glug out.
Used a pair of needle nose pliers to remove the threads. I will be replacing this plug as part of my opening maintenance. No idea how old it was but it’s not worth burning out a pump.
