Just got a house that has a metal 24' AGP with standard returns. I've owned intex pool vacs and know they work great for this type of application so I bought another one. We'll they've redesigned the vac slightly. The hose is one piece and has proprietary fittings on each end (still about 1 1/4" hose). The original blue return fitting-to-hose adapter is now a pretty beefy grey 3". I am gonna flip this house and don't want to re-do all the PVC and was hoping someone knew of the 3" proprietary Intex return adapter to a standard 1.5" hayward style return. As it is I'm thinking I'm gonna have to epoxy something up but would prefer not to. Does anyone think a 1.5" male to barbed fitting would work?

They produce lots of adapters now, just have to use the right 'keywords' to find them, could you share a pic of what needs to be matched up with?
I already have this figured out 
Leave the bot side alone. Cut off the Intex nut leaving just the 1.25" hose.
I used a 1.5" MPT to 1.25" barbed fitting

I cut 6 inches and put this in-between allowing the hose to swivel.
The barbed side is very tight. I used some dishwashing soap to help slide it on. Then rinsed before I put it in the pool. (3) hose clamps will be needed for this setup.
After running the bot I figured out that I could shorten the hose by about 4 feet making it less likely to tangle.

Yes, please, I would definitely like some pictures. Mine is also a brand new intex bot, with the bulky grey fitting...
So rummaging through my spares box, I came across a useless-until-now adaptor that Leslie's sold me when I was trying to add a Matrix 1HP pump (before I understood the electrical risks with my kind of pool). I can no longer find it on their page, nor online, but just know that this adaptor exists and works beautifully! Behold:

It fits PERFECTLY withe the vacuum adaptor:
AND it is the EXACT thread as the eye that fits into the Hayward return:
One problem is that the adaptor is thick, and will not allow the sieve in. I think I might resolve that with a sock screen mounted elsewhere to protect my filter.
So now the single problem that I still have is to figure out how to remove that Hayward return eye from its socket on the actual pool -- seems pretty stuck in there. Suggestions are welcome.

It is built as a solid block, with a ring that allows tightening by hand. If I find a link to it, I will post here.

I don;t, and the solution worked for a slower jet. When I replaced the filter media last year, the stronger jet kept decoupling the hose. The hose threads were the same size, but the metric to inches difference meant the fit was not perfect.
So last year I found an adaptor on etsy and that works wonders. I posted a message about it on the board. Unfortunately, the shop closed when I wanted to share the link with you just now. Instead, there is another shop on Etsy with a similar product, different design, but it is not cheap:
I still think it's a worthy investment, but it does make me a bummed that the price for a silly 3D printed adaptor went up like that. Mine was only $15. The big difference is that this new model attaches directly to the hose, whereas mind attaches to the dark grey filter piece that also contained a mesh filter. Not a big deal, since this works on the filtered water return, so one can argue the new design is actually better.
